Desktop computer Instead of playing a video game through the TV you
are able to play through a desktop computer. Most desktop computers
can range from around 100-3000+the only difference within the price is
the games which you want to play within the computer screen or the size
or graphics which you would want. Some games like Minecraft this game
may require a simple machine this is due to the simple graphics which
feature within the game where as games like Call of Duty would require a
high end computer this is due to the immersive, quality graphics which
will take place when playing this game. PC gaming is another method of
how you are able to play games within a computer; by playing this way
the way the game is shown and played is a totally different way to the
way it is played when playing within a console.

Console A console is a gaming device which outputs a video signal or

visual image to be able to display a video game. Most consoles have been
around for a very long time, which has been the most popular within the
market for gaming. Console started with very basic graphics which would
include simple controls. One of the most popular consoles which have
been sold in the highest demand is the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox one,
which is then followed by Nintendo consoles; one of the main reasons why
these are so popular is that they are easy to set up and very easy to play.
You are able to play enough every genre of videos games which is out
there on a console and on any console which you have if that being the
Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3, you are still able to play games, on some
consoles you can even play DVDs. playing games on a console can be
very easy as you have a wide choice of platforms which you could view
the games on for example you could use a standard TV and play the video
game through the console on to the TV and one of the popular ways is to
buy a monitor and play the console through the monitor to be able to play

Mobile device Within a mobile device you are able to access a huge
variety of games which they all can be downloads through an app store as
well as the mobiles operators network, although within some cases there
may be also some embedded games within the handheld device by the
OME or by the operator when the mobile is purchased this can be done by
Bluetooth, a memory card or a side loaded which is done by connecting it
to a headset with a cable. A mobile device is a video game which can be
played in a feature phone, smartwatch, smartphone, tablet or a portable
media player etc. now most games are typically player through smart
phones or smart style devices which have all have individual play stores
where apps and games are able to be downloaded from, there is very
many which are the app store, google play and the android store; within
the stores games could be downloaded for free or the users may actually
have to pay for some apps or games which they would like. Most games

simple to download and play.

human interactive with a user interface this is to generate the visual

My game is going to be mobile based but can also be played on a PC with

Genre report
Sport- Sports games are video games which simulates the practice of
sports. A lot of sports which are played have been recreated into a game,
which include sports. On a Wii you are able to choose to play any different
sports games such as baseball, golf, tennis, bowling, boxing etc. through
playing theses sports on a Wii it doesnt involve having to buy a new
game each time as they are already on the Wii and you are able to
interactive more with the games on a Wii then playing a video game on
Xbox. Most sports which you are able to play in real life are all recreated
in to games, so that you can play them through a PC, Xbox or PS4. Most
sport video games simulate the practice of sports, so you could practice
them out and about as well as at home on a console. Each year there may
be a new version of the game so each time the game may include more
things or something totally different about the game.
This is an example of playing tennis on a Wii, you are able to
play with 4 characters including the player itself. This game
is very interactive and is a multiplayer game.

Adventure An adventure game is a game is an interactive story which is

explorative and could be puzzle solving. Adventure games are types of
computer games which participant plays a fantasy role within an episodic
adventure of a story. Most adventure games which include text and
graphic are normally designed to be played by a single player, as this is
type of game is based around a story and character is would be hard to
base this type of game around multi-player. The most important part of an
adventure game is the storytelling, exploration and could sometimes
involve puzzle solving. A video games genre is defined by its gameplay.
This is an example of an adventure game, this

Action- An action game is a video game which includes some physical

challenges which sometimes include hand-eye coordination and to have a

fighting games, shooting games and some platform games which have
are considered to be three of the most important action games, although
some real time strategy games can be considered to be action games. In
some action games the player tends to have control of the avatar; the

objects, having battles with enemies which will happen on various
different occasions with various different attacks and the avatar must
avoid obstacles. At the end of most levels in action games the player
must attack a larger enemy to be able to continue to the next level. There
r various types of action games which could include racing, collecting
object and puzzles but they are not are key to the genre. Having good
reactions to things would be a key in this genre as it would really require
having good reactions in order to successes within this type of games.

Simulation- An simulation game is a game which includes

various different activities from games which happen in
real life but in the form of a game this is created for
various purposes like training, prediction or analysis. In simulation games
there doesnt tend to be any goals within this type of game, players within
this game are allowed to be able to freely control the character which
they are playing. The best known examples include games such as
business game, war games and simulation. There are many different sub
genres which are divided up with a simulation for example one being
sports and this would be a simulation of playing sports in real life, or there
could be a war simulation where in the game you would actually be in the
zone for being in a war and the mood and atmosphere which would
actually happen in a war.

Strategy- A strategy game is a game which could be a video or broad

game which players may often do autonomous decisions-making skills
which will have a high significance in determining the outcome. Strategy
video games are categorized based on how they offer the continuous
gameplay of real time strategy. Strategy games are games like crusader
kings II, sins of a solar empire: rebellion etc.

Puzzle- A puzzle game is a game which will test a person ingenuity or

knowledge. In most puzzles, one player is required to put pieces together
in a logical way, to ensure that they can correct the solution of the puzzle
which they are playing; most puzzles can be found on smartphones, ion
magazines or online. There are many different types of puzzle for all
different ages such as word searches, crosswords, logic puzzles and
number puzzles. Puzzles can often be devised as a form of entertainment
but they can also arise from serious mathematical or sometimes logistical
problems. Near enough all ages are able to play puzzle games so this is a
popular game. There are very many different puzzle games out there but
the most popular ones are Tetris, jewel quest, bejewelled,
candy crush saga and many more different games which
are similar to them.

Role play- A role playing game is a game which players assume the roles
of different characters within a fictional setting. Players will take
responsibility for the acting out these roles within a narrative, either
through literal acting or through a process of the structured decision-
making or the character development. Any actions which are
taken within many games succeed or fail according to a
formal system of rules and the guidelines. There are serval
different forms of role play games.

Management- Time management games are a genre of video game which

is focused around fast real time allocation of resources within a
consequent to fulfil the level objectives. The player must be able to react
to the incoming requests which may occur as they play and serve them in
the most effective manner to be able to gather greatest possible reward.
They are usually limited in time and their resources limits the speed which
they are able to serve the request.

educational purposes or which have incidental or secondary educational
value. Most educational games are able to assist them within learning
skills as they play the game. Games are interactive play which teach us
gaols, rules, adaption, problem solving, interaction and many other
different things. With the increase and availability of technological
devices, there has been a shift in what types of games people play; video
or electronic gaming has become more widely used than tradional board
games.

Viral marketing Within the internet, viral marketing is any marketing

technique which includes web sites or users to pass on a marketing
message to other sites or users. Being able to create a potentially
exponential growth within the messages visibility and effect. An example
of a successful viral marketing is Hotmail, this is a company is now owned
by Microsoft which promotes its service and its own advertisers, or
marketing buzz are buzzwords which refer to marketing techniques which
use pre-existing social networking services and other types of
technologies this is to try and produce increase in the brand awareness or
to achieve other marketing objectives like product sales through self-
replication viral processes.

I am going to choose the puzzle genre for my game.

Age- The age of my game is going to be 15-60 year olds although this
game could be played by people who may be younger or maybe actually
be older than 60 year olds. I have decided on this age range as most
people would play this game as a similar game called candy crush this
had an age range of around the age range which I chosen; I think that this
is a suitable age range as it has a wide range of people who can play this
game, this game is featured on social media and within different app
stores so depending on how old people are they may not be able to play
this game as there is age restrictions on most
social media and there could be restrictions on
app stores.

Gender- The gender of my game is both male and female as my game is

not aimed at one audience. As the game candy crush this also has an
audience of both male and female and my game which I am creating is
going to be very similar to this. The game candy crush is aimed at any
audience so I have decided that my game is going to be aimed at male
and females aged between 15 to 60 year olds.

Core- A core gamer is their favourite entertainment medium, movies and

surpassing television. Core gamers will spend a lot of their time and even
spare time playing video games which they really like, for example they
would end up spending most of their night playing games and most of
their day when they dont have anything else to do and theyre not
playing they will be doing something which is important like in
school/college or spending time with family, they may even be looking on
the internet looking for information about the game they are playing or
watching videos which may help them improve their skills on this game
etc.

Causal- A casual gamer totally different to a core gamer as causal gamers

wont dedicate that much time to playing games and isnt prepared to
spend much money on gamers either. A casual gamer wants to play
games the same way they would want to go shopping for spend with
family, a casual gamer would spread the time out with playing on a game
and other things which they want to do. The game which I am going to
create is going to be a for a causal gamer as the game which I want to
create is going to keep them interested within the game but its not a
game which they would play all day, its a game which needs to
completing to be successful for the next levels.

Gaming communities- The gaming communities is a social network of

individuals who can interact with other people; this tends to be in virtual
world where people are able to interact with each other and people who
are connected by living avatars which are computer-based world. Users
are able to create and design their own avatar character this is choosing
what outfit they wear and they may also be able to create the avatars
house, they will be controlling their character as well. People are able to
discuss to other players which are playing the same game what they are
doing and ask stuff about the game, an example of this would be on Xbox
one and 360 players are able to interact with each other if they have Xbox
live and have a working mic and controller, they are able to interact by
speaking over a head set when they are playing multiplayer games such
as Call of Duty, on this game you are able to work together over the
headset to help each over achieve a goal within the game which they are
playing.

Preferred game genre My preferred game genre is going to be a puzzle

game, as these games you are able to find them anywhere and you dont
actually need to have an internet connection. I find these types of games
to be interesting when having nothing else to do. I think that these types
of games are easy to use and navigate around and I also think that they
are fun and interesting to play as you need to complete the first level to
ensure that you can go on to the next level within this game. There isnt
any particular storyline to my game as each level will have a different
scenario which is needed to be completed before moving on to different
levels within the game for example on one level the scenario may be get
the fruit to the bottom of the game in order to completed this level.
These types games tend to become a little additive so people will be
coming to back to the game again after again so this game isnt going to
get old.

Similar games already in the market- There is many games which are
similar to the one which I am creating within the market. I am basing my
game around games like candy crush and bejewelled blitz as all of these
games are very successful and still are to this day, I think my audience
would find the game which I am creating fun and exciting as my game is
very similar to the ones which are already out.
