 Dedication Synopsis

I dedicate this event to my parents, Ravi and

Janaki, to my guru Smt. Dhanya Subramanian, and 1. Valachi Varnam
to my brother Vyas.

My initial introduction to music was done on the Ragam: Navaragamalika
piano. My mother took me to have my first piano TaLam: Aadi
lessons in a mall, after which she found me a piano
teacher, Ms. Irene Kwok. Thank you, Amma, for 2. Thathvamariya Tharama
getting me started in music.
Composer: Papanasam Sivam
I remember when I was in 5th grade, my father Ragam: Reethi Gowla
told me that I was good with musical theory and TaLam: Aadi
sang well, so I should learn Carnatic vocal music.
Thank you, Appa, for introducing me to Carnatic
music.

Varun is a high school senior at Santa Clara
High School. From a very young age, Varun
has exhibited a love for Carnatic music which
has led him to his guru, Smt. Dhanya
Subramanian. Varun has been learning
Carnatic vocal from Smt. Dhanya
Subramanian for the past 7 years.
Varun has also learned western music on the
piano for about 6 years.
During his spare time, Varun loves to listen to
music, play video games, and do puzzles.
 Ganesh Murali
Ganesh Murali is from Mumbai, India. He has
recently completed 10th Standard. Ganesh has
been learning the Mridangam for the last seven
years from his guru, Shri Shankar Lakshman.
Ganesh has won several state-level
Mridamgam competitions in India.
Some of Ganesh's hobbies include drawing
and swimming; he has won several
competitions in drawing as well.
Dhanya Subramanian
Smt. Dhanya Subramanian is the principal of
Dhanyasy School of Music in Santa
Clara, California. An alumnus of Kalakshetra
(Chennai), she had her training from Smt.
Bhusany Kalyanaraman and specializes in
Carnatic vocal music. She holds a Bachelor's
degree in Music from the University of Madras
(India) and has performed on All India Radio and
in Carnatic events in the US and in India.
Her passion towards music has led Smt. Dhanya
to teaching. She has been teaching Carnatic
vocal music to both kids and adults for the last
10+ years in SF bay area, and through skype as
well.

Aravind Sheshadri
Aravind is the grandson and disciple of Vidushi Smt. A.
Rajamma Keshavamurthy, a Rajyotsava Awardee and
a renowned vocalist of in the state of Karnataka.
Aravind is the son & disciple of renowned violinist
Vidwan Sri B. K.Sheshadri. He has had advanced
training under Sangeetha Vidyasagara Violin Vidwan
Late Sri R. R. Keshavamurthy. He is presently
pursuing advanced training under his brother Anand
Sheshadri who is a renowned vocalist and mridangam
artist.
Aravind has been performing from past 10 years at
various Sabhas and organizations - like DD Chandana,
Kamat group, etc. He has accompanied many budding
and several renowned visiting artists in Bangalore, the
Bay Area, and San Diego such as Vidwan Sri
Vidyabhushana and Vidhushi Dr. Suma Sudhindra.
