To Whom It May Concern,
Jackie Gatto has been a student intern in my second grade, inclusion,
classroom since September of this year. During that time, Jackie has
demonstrated a commitment to her academic goals and our Lowell School
Community.
In our daily routine, Jackie increasingly took on more responsibilities until
establishing a co-teacher environment. Weekly lessons were collaborated
together and we shared teaching in all curricular areas. Her lessons reflected
knowledge of state standards while integrating mandated programs of the
Watertown Schools. She also provided differentiated instructions to help
support student achievement. During our ELA block, Jackie worked with groups
for Guided Reading instruction. To prepare for lessons, Jackie previewed text and
created student materials that allow for different strands of learning and leveled
for ease of student access. She also learned and implemented assessment tools
for our first term grading. Through her own initiative, she also co-planned lessons
and instructed a large group of second graders during our I/C Block (intervention/
challenge). In addition, Jackie availed herself afterschool for preparing weekly
lessons, attended some staff meetings and professional development days.
During her placement, Jackie developed a professional rapport with students
and staff. She made use of our school resources, including faculty expertise, for
extended projects. With her enthusiasm and intuitiveness, she encouraged and
guided all students with respect. At this time, Jackie Gatto is prepared for all the
duties and responsibilities of teaching and | would, highly, recommend her for a
teaching position. As an educator, | would certainly appreciate Jackie as a
colleague.
Sincerely,
Dotty Buonomo
