Romeo and Juliet responsibility

Have you ever loved someone so much that you would give up the world just to

be with them? In the story of Romeo and Juliet this is exactly what happens, they give

up everything they have just to be with each other. Romeo and Juliet are the ones to

blame because they follow their intuition and theyre not in their right mind. They cause

this tragedy because of their frivolousness.

There are many people in this tragedy that were responsible for what happens

with Romeo and Juliet, but I think that the most guilty people in this tragic story are

Romeo and Juliet themselves. Romeo is the main person to blame because he isnt

thinking straight, and he just falls in love with Juliet without processing everything

through. Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I neer saw true beauty till

this night, (Shakespeare, W. 2000, p. 30). The quote tells you that Romeo is careless,

and he only thinks about himself and his needs, which also causes his suicide. He

commits suicide just to be with Juliet, since she also kills herself, but he doesnt know

that Juliet is still alive, which was his big mistake. Even if he really thinks he loves her,

you can always fall in love with someone else. Love is the best school, but the tuition is

high and the homework can be painful, (Ackerman, D. 2012). The quote demonstrates

that love is the main reason why this tragedy happened because Romeo falls in love

with Juliet, and their minds get mixed up.

Juliet is another main person to blame of the cause of this tragedy because of
her actions and amorousness. I gave thee mine before thou didst request it; And yet I

would it were to give again, (Shakespeare, W. 2000, p. 42). This quote proves that

Juliet is the one to blame by telling the reader that she is still oa little girl, who cant think

straight. "All relationships change the brain- but most important are the intimate bonds

that foster or fail us, altering the delicate circuits that shape memories, emotions and

ultimate souvenir, the self", (Ackerman, D. 2012). This quote indicates that Juliet is

affected by love because it clearly explains how love can change a person's life by

making people make wrong decisions. Wedded hearts change everything, even the

brain, (Ackerman, D. 2012). The quote determines that a person who is in love cannot

think right, which is what is happening to Juliet.

Some people may suggest Benvolio is to blame, however I think theyre wrong.

Benvolio is not to blame because he tried to stop the fight when Mercutio and Tybalt

began to battle. Put up your swords. You know not what you do. I do but keep the

peace. Put up thy swords, or manage it to part these men with me, (Shakespeare,

2000, p. 6). These quotes validate that Benvolio is the person not to blame because it

tells the reader that Benvolio is responsible, and he tries to stop the dispute and give

them the right advice.

Romeo and Juliet are the ones to blame because they followed their intuition and

they werent in their right mind. Overall, love was the main problem and cause of the

tragedy. Romeo and Juliet fell for each other and that is there mistake, why did they

have to take everything so serious? There other people to love and they didnt have to

over exaggerate their feelings towards each other. Meanwhile, Benvolio is the one not

to blame because he only tried to help solve the problem between Tybalt and Mercutio.
