Saturated Steam

Field Devices Sales and Marketing Conference April 2015

Why is steam important to our Customers?

Energy in the form of heat is used throughout the process,

municipal and building sectors

Steam is the most efficient way to deliver, distribute and

utilize large amounts of heat energy

Saturated Steam Flow Measurement

Where?
Saturated steam is the most common source of thermal energy in virtually every industry we serve. It is
also common in heating of many public buildings such as Universities, Hospitals, Municipal Buildings

Why?
To minimize energy costs
To reduce energy usage be more Green
Internal and external billing
Where is the need?
Some have no measurement or just monitor the pressure and must do better
Some still have old mechanical meters that are no longer supported
Some use dP flow and may be open to better measurements
Some use vortex and may be interest in our Best in Class vortex offering

Multi-MeasurementsFlow and Temperature
A flow transmitter and a temperature transmitter in one package

3 Outputs Simultaneously (4 wires)

4-20 mA (2 wire) + HART Transmit Flow and Temperature Simultaneously

4-20 mA
Pulse/ Frequency
Digital HART

Value?

Save on purchase & installation costs

Pulse or Frequency
(2 additional wires) Fewer leak points

Low Cost Liquid Mass Flow Measurement
Build-in linear density vs temperature algorithm

Value?

Much less expensive than Coriolis

Especially in sizes above 3
density

With accuracies good enough

Typically less than 1%

Density vs temperature for virtually every liquid is almost a straight line

The 84C allows you to program this straight line to provide a mass flow measurement
for any liquid that a vortex flow meter will work on!!!
