WHAT I LEARNED IN COLSKE

Taking up the subject Color Sketching in my second year as a Fine Arts student, at

first I thought that it will just be another subject that teaches us how to do this and

that, have plates assigned to us because it manifests this technique, etcetera but

theres actually more to it.

Taking up this subject has opened a lot of opportunities for me. It taught me

how to think outside the box, break the rules and express myself more freely, not

minding what other people might say or think about. I learned that Art not only

involves a canvass and some paint it has something deeper than painting a picture

and trying hard to make it as realistic as possible based on a reference. I realized

that finding your own self is important here, and that art conveys your mind and

how you observe in your surroundings based on your own perspective. It doesnt

matter what some might say, I actually learned that the more shocking and weird

your art is, the more it catches peoples attention and makes them wonder whats

going on in your head. Art for me will always be a mystery because every artwork

never fails to surprise me. I never once predicted how something would turn out

even when I work, I always get this picture in my head but the more I try to follow it

the more it turns out differently. I learned to just grip my idea and let it go freely

when I work.

This subject, Color sketching, has been a great experience for me, not only

for the present but also for the future. I thank our professor giving us an insight
about what it would be like outside the school and how it will be when we graduate.

For now, everything is open and it doesnt matter what people say. I will focus on

myself and explore possibilities to try to make myself improve and be better.
