Instruction Manual
Introduction
Thank you for selecting the PHscan10S pocket pH tester. This manual provides a step-by-step guide to help you operate the meter, please carefully read the
following instructions before use.
Keypad
PHscan10S pocket pH tester has a succinct membrane keypad, names and symbols describe the each function key controls.

KEY FUNCTION
Prior to Use
Remove the electrode protective cap from the tester.
If the glass sensitive membrane on the electrode dries out, soak the electrode in 3M KCL solution or tap water for at least 15 minutes. DO NOT use
distilled or deionized water, it will shorten the life of sensor.
Open the pH7.00 buffer packet, place the powder into a 250ml volumetric flask. Pour distilled water 250ml to scale line, mix the solution until
reagent is completely dissolved.
Preparation of pH4.01 and 10.01 standard buffer solutions are the same as above.
Prepared standard buffer solutions should be stored in hermetically sealed glass containers.

Power On/Off
Press MEAS key to turn on the tester, the display shows measured value.
Press and hold the MEAS key for 5 seconds, the tester will turn off.
If you do not press any key for 8 minutes, the tester will automatically turn off to conserve energy.
pH Calibration
PHscan10S pocket pH tester must be calibrated prior to first use or new electrode replaced. To ensure accuracy, regular calibration is recommended. DO
NOT reuse pH buffer solution after calibration, contaminants in solution will affect the calibration and eventually the accuracy of the measurement.
1. Rinse the pH electrode with distilled water.
2. Press and hold the CAL key for 3 seconds, the display shows CAL 7-4. If necessary, press CAL key again, the display shows CAL 10-7.

4. Dip the pH electrode into the pH7.00 standard buffer solution, the end of the electrode must be completely immersed into the calibration solution.
Stir the tester gently.
5. Press ENTER key to confirm. Wait for the measured value to stabilize, the reading will flash 3 times indicating that first calibration point is completed.

Electrode Replacement
When the tester fails to calibrate or gives fluctuating readings for calibration standards, you need to replace the electrode module.
1. Twist the electrode collar counter clockwise, pull the old electrode module away from the tester.
2. Align the slot on the new electrode module, gently push the module into the tester.
Troubleshooting
