Installation and Startup Summary

(The following steps require a working installation of the ABC Config Tool on a PC)

1. Snap the module onto the DIN rail (See above)

2. Connect the module to the ControlNet network
3. Connect the module to the sub network
4. Connect the power cable and apply 24VDC power to the module
5. Connect the configuration cable between the module and the PC containing the ABC Config
Tool software. (Note: This cable can be removed after configuration)
6. Configure the module using the ABC Config Tool
7. Include the AnyBus Communicator .EDS-file in the ControlNet configuration tool.
8. Configure and start the ControlNet network

The Anybus Communicator for ControlNet module is classified as a ControlNet adapter, i.e. it can-
not originate connections on its own, but a scanner node can open a connection towards it. The
module is implemented according to the ControlNet specification for a communication adapter, pro-
file number 12.
A connection to the module can be opened from a ControlNet scanner. The size of the connection
can be up to 450 bytes in each direction. The module can be read or written to using UCMM
(Unscheduled) messages from another ControlNet adapter (slave) or scanner (master). Unscheduled
messages are normally only used for information such as configuration data etc.
The minimum Network Update Time (Nut) of the module is 5ms.
