Lesson
Overview In this lesson, the big idea is social norms in a public setting. For this lesson, the
students will be exploring how social norms influence their everyday lives in a
public setting. The key concept we are focusing on are how certain behaviors
and actions have become part of a normal routine in a public setting. For
example, texting and driving has becoming a social norm. This habit mostly
affects teens and young adults, but this is not a mutually exclusive group. We
will be exploring other habits that are socially normal in today's society. Through
Daily this exploration, students will be creating PSA Billboards they believe draw
Procedures attention to a social norm in todays culture.
