Case Study #8: Boys Achievement in Education
1) Learning Objectives
a. The students will identify and review the main points of the given case study.
b. The students will learn and understand the main reasons why males struggle in school more than
females.
2) Activities
a. Have the students watch a video and answer discussion questions. The students will answer the
questions in their small groups and translate it to the entire class.
b. The students will engage in a 2 vs 2 test about the subject. Since there are only a couple males in
the class, Greg will participate with the males. The 2 vs 2 test will be the males vs the females;
the females will alternate pairs and the males will remain consistent.
c. Have the students answer critical thinking discussion questions. This is with the entire class, so
they will not discuss in small groups.

4) Assessment
a. The main assessment is a Hangman game. Keys Points of Boys Success. The students will be
divided into teams and will compete in a Hangman game about the case study. The main
categories will include reasons why males struggle more than females and other aspects of the
case study. (Hits Objectives 1, 2)
