I am a recent graduate of the University of the Andes in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, who recently
learned about the position of Field Engineer on the Schlumberger web site.
As a recent graduate I have been looking for a position where I can put into practice the knowledge and
skills I have acquired in coursework and thesis work in areas specific to the oil and gas industry, such as
power system analysis, power system protection, and computational modeling and power quality. As a
trilingual speaker who has already lived abroad for two years in Brazil independent of my family, I was
really hoping to have the opportunity to combine my love of engineering with my love of travel, so I was
very excited to find the possibility of pursuing these goals simultaneously with Schlumberger, which I know
to be the worlds leading company in oilfield services, thanks to technological innovations such as the
Litho Scanner service which won the prestigious World Oil Award for Best Exploration Technology. It
would be an ideal situation for me to both put into practice what I have learned and continue to learn
alongside such world class engineers and specialists. I would like to add that in addition to the
aforementioned technical skills, I am a fast learner (currently taking an online programming course at MIT)
as well as a social and cooperative person with extensive teamwork experience.
Please let me know if I can provide any additional information or references or if you would like to discuss
my candidacy personally. Given that the name Schlumberger is synonymous with both integrity and
excellence in the oil and gas sector, I am honored to even be considered for the position. Please find
enclosed my c.v. for your review.
Sincerely,
Field Engineer
