The instructor will have a discussion based learning time with the student going over the
following topics.
1. Go over medical certificate requirements, classes, and their duration
2. Discuss pilot certificate privileges, limitations, and recent pilot flight experience
requirements
3. Talk about pilot logbooks and required flight records
4. Go over where to find airworthiness and registration certificates, the acronym ARROW
documents to be in the aircraft at all times.
5. Review weight and balance data as well as equipment list Differed equipment and
placards.
6. minimum equipment list
7. maintenance required AVIATES A

Purpose:

It is important to know when you are legal to fly and when you are not, also this is going
to be asked on your check ride.

Attention:

For example how would you like to be going on a fun cross country flight and landing at
some awesome airport? However though today there just so happens to be an FAA
employee checking all aircraft on the ramp for their documents. What if our plane doesnt
have them all in it, do we know what we all need to have aboard to be legal lets find out?

Medicals:

Aviation safety is huge and the main way that the industry insures that all pilots are fit to
fly is by requiring them to be able to hold a certain level of medical depending on what
type of flying they are doing.

taking notes and looking up questions in the text and showing willingness to learn and
ask questions on material that is unknown.

Completion Standards:

The lesson is complete when the student demonstrates and understanding of the elements
related to the required certificate and documents for legal fight involving both the aircraft
and the pilot, also the maintenance required for legal flight.

Questions:

1. What aircraft inspections are required for flight?

2. Does an airworthiness certificate expire?
3. How long does an aircrafts registration last for?
4. What documents are required to be on board the aircraft?
