Title of Lesson: Count the Teeth

I. Concept Statement
The children will engage in manipulating the dice, by rolling it to find out how
many teeth they would have to count to place on the mouth.

Objective 1: The children will gain an understanding of numbers by identifying
the number of teeth they need after rolling the dice.

A. Motivation
- I will read the children My Dentist, My Friend by P.K. Hallinan in dentist work.

B. Steps

1. After the children finish cleaning up, the children with pick their square
for morning meeting.
2. After everyone is seated, we will sing our morning song.
3. After I will ask the children to raise their hand if they ever been to the
dentist.
4. Then I will tell them today we will learn about going to the dentist.
5. After I will read them the My Dentist, My Friend by P.K. Hallinan book to
the children.
6. After reading the book, I will tell the children that we will be playing, call
count the teeth.
7. After we will say our poem, then if Ms. Lauren has anything that she
wants to tell them, then she will.
8. After I will call the first group to put their square away, and have their
snack first.
9. Then I will call the rest of the children to put their square away and go
play.
10. After the first group finished their snack them, I will call them over
to play the Count the teeth game.
11. I will give them each a construction paper in the shape of a mouth.
12. Then I will tell them how the game is played, then give the children
the dice to start playing.
13. I will have them play multiply time for everyone to win, After the
first group finish, and the second group finish having their snack, I will
call them over.
14. After I will tell them how the game is played, then give the children
the dice to start playing.
15. After playing the game multiply time, for everyone to win, then, I
will add in another dice to help the children more understand how to
count.

C. Conclusion and Transition

Conclusion
- The children will add another dice to help the children with their
counting.
Transition
- The children will be playing, or having their snack.
