RSBI (Rintisan sekolah berstandar Internasional)

RSBI was a school with Indonesian School Standard but the difference
between the regular schools is the students were prepared with National Education
Standard and international average. So, the students of RSBI School get education
with National standard and also prepared for International standard too. It means
their position is between School with Indonesian educational standard and School
with International standard (SBI).
The basic law for this type of school is UU Sistem Pendidikan Nasional
(Sisdiknas) Pasal 50 ayat (3) no 20 in 2003. But the school itself was invented in
2006. The purpose for this school is to increasing the national education quality
standard and also gives some opportunity to RSBI School so they can get higher
position. The position itself is SBI (School with international Standard). The other
purpose is to prepare the graduated student who can take participation in
internationals society.
So with this purpose, our school can get better (with international part)
without leaving our national education standard. But, why this school has been
disbanded in 2013?
Therere many reasons for this disbandment, some classical reasons are
about society, material and also from the educational itself. These reasons can be
explained as
1. From society: with this appearance of RSBI, theres discrimination among
peoples. Peoples will judge that students from RSBI School are better than
students from average school.
2. Material: peoples from society believe that RSBI schools fee is more
expensive than in average school. Its true and the judgment from society
is: students in RSBI School are rich kids from rich parents. For the parents
themselves, some of them get burdened by the schools fee itself.
 3. Educational: Some curriculums are imported from outside country.
Therere some worries about its adaptation for our country.
In Suara Merdeka (10 January 2013), RSBI itself was invented because
governments concern about Indonesian children who go to overseas just to get
better education. So this is the basic for inventing RSBI School so our countrys
educational quality is getting better and can be a rival for other school in
international community.
On January 8th year 2013, MK made a big decision to canceling the UU no
20 year 2003 about Sisdiknas because it was a contradiction for UUD 1945. The
contradictions are the 3 reasons (or it can be more) above. So RSBI was no more
or we can say that this type of school was disbanded.
Can Indonesian school get better education with their own standard? With
our own education system development, we can catch up an international standard
with our own effort. Not because an invented system from outside country.
Why we are attending Teaching biology in English course?
Lets take a brief look from our previous discussion, the main purpose
for our educational system is to make a better system for our national education
progress. So, of course we must see the other but say no to copy and paste. We
can get better with our own improvement but we cant be an egoist.
We want to make our students to be an academic who can be a rival in
international community. But how we can communicate with them?
We must use the international mediation language and that language is
English. This international language can make us know how to communicate and
how to interact with other people around the world. With this interaction, we can
get new knowledge.
Students with good knowledge about this language can get much
information. So theyre not just relying on Indonesian information but also
updated their knowledge too. We as a teacher candidate must know this language
too so we can make them (our students) motivated in mastering this language.
