installation guide for

FATBOY
2400 LITRE RAINWATER TANK

what you need...


~ A spirit level ~ Silicone
~ Jigsaw or keyhole saw ~ Drill & 25mm spade bit
~ Concrete tiles or building sand ~ Step ladder
~ 90mm PVC pipe, connections ~ At least two people to move
and PVC solvent cement the Waterwall Fatboy

PREPARE THE BASE


It is important that the Fatboy is installed on a solid level base to
ensure it is stable when full.
~ Level and compact builders sand, extending 200mm beyond
each edge of the tank, to a depth of 150mm.
or
~ Install level concrete tiles along the length and depth of the
footing; make sure that there are no gaps between the tiles.

Inlet indicator rings


STEP BY STEP
Please consult a qualified plumber if you are not confident
installing the plumbing for your Waterwall Fatboy.
Overflow ~ Position the tank ensuring the front [with the tap outlets] is
indicator ring accessible.
~ Cut out inlet hole in the top of the tank - there are
indicator rings in the top as a guide.
~ Cut out overflow hole in the end of the tank using a jigsaw
or keyhole saw; cut around the outside of the overflow
indicator ring you plan to use.
Inlet strainer ~ Run a bead of silicone around the inside of the flange on the
90mm PVC overflow supplied with the Fatboy.
Overflow ~ Insert the overflow into the tank pointing upward, and screw
outlet Overflow
screen onto the tank.
~ Push the overflow screen onto the outside of overflow; do
not glue.
~ Attach enough 90mm PVC downpipe to the overflow outlet
to reach a stormwater drain. Do not glue the pipe onto the
silicone overflow screen - the push connection will be tight enough,
and this will allow you to remove and clean the screen.
~ Screw the inlet strainer into position using the four screws
90mm pipe provided.
~ Modify an existing downpipe running from the roof guttering,
INSTALL STRAINER AND OVERFLOW directing it into the inlet strainer. You may also want to install
other filtering devices, such as a first flush diverter.
INSTALL OUTLETS
~ Drill out the outlets you wish to use.
You will need a 25mm spade bit for the lower
3/4” outlet outlets in the ends which can be used for a pump or
hose, or for joining tanks using a Fatboy 1” Joiner Kit.
You will need a 22mm spade bit for the higher
outlet on the front, which can be used tap.
1” outlet or
joining point Use 3/4” [20mm] taps and plumbing fittings on this
outlet.
DRILL OUT THE PREFERRED OUTLETS

INSTALL LINKED TANKS


If you have more than one Waterwall Fatboy, you will need
a Fatboy 1” Joiner Kit for every tank except the first (the
inlet tank). IE 3 x Fatboys require 2 x Joiner Kits.
Install and join each tank in sequence.
~ Using a 25mm spade bit, drill out an outlet in the
end of each tank for the connection hose, before
installing the Fatboy tanks.
joiner ~ Position each tank, pushing the end snugly against
connection hose the preceding Fatboy.
~ Screw in the connection hoses to link the tanks;
attach the fixed end of the hose into one

other, then attach the turning end of the hose to
the joiner.
~ Screw the air vented bung into the bung hole in the
top of the tank.
TIP!
When your Fatboy fills for
the first time, remove the PUMPS
inlet strainer and overflow Pump retailers are best to advise on a suitable pump based on how you plan
