Curriculum Vitae

ANTONINO MICHELE PREVITERA

A. M. Previtera was born in 1956. After classical studies, in 1980 he obtained


his medical degree at the University of Milan with full marks cum laude.

Since December 1980, he started the hospital practice at the First Orthopedic
Clinic of the University of Milan, directed by prof. Vincenzo Pietrogrande.

In December 1981, he moved to San Paolo Hospital in Milan, at the Orthopedics


and Traumatology Clinic of University of Milan, directed by prof. Antonino Surace.

In July 1985, he specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology cum laude at the University of Milan.

Since 1979, he began studies of Computer Science.


In October 1984, he attended a course on advanced BASIC language at the Computing Center of the
University of Milan.
In 1985/86, he attended the first year of the Faculty of Informatics of the University of Milan.

In 1986-87, he was admitted to the School of Specialization in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation
of University of Milan, directed by prof. Luigi Parrini. For this reason, he could not keep up the
frequency to the Faculty of Informatics, for incompatibility. He, however, continued his studies in
Computer Science and Physics applied to Medicine, giving particular attention to biomechanics.

In July 1989, he specialized in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation cum laude at the University of
Milan.

In 2001, he achieved the diploma in Management of Medical Department at the Bocconi University
of Milan.

Since December 1981, he has always served at the San Paolo Hospital in Milan, first as a medical
visitor and since May 1984 as a medical assistant.

Since May 1991, he became Head of the Service of Functional Rehabilitation.

In April 2002, he was appointed Head of the Simple Unit of Neuromotor Rehabilitation of San Paolo
Hospital.

In august 2004, he became chief of Complex Unit of Rehabilitation of San Paolo Hospital.

Since March 2007, he is Associate Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Faculty
of Medicine, University of Milan, and he retains its position of director of the Complex Unity of
Rehabilitation of San Paolo Hospital.
Since June 2012, he is the Head of Studies of the bachelor program in Physiotherapy at University of
Milan.

Since October 2013, he is the director of the School of Specialization in Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation at the University of Milan.

Currently he is housed within the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Milan and
teaches in the courses of Medicine and Surgery, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Orthopedics Techniques,
Orthoptics and Ophthalmologic Assistance, Podiatry, Childhood Neuro and Psychomotricity, Health
Professions for Technical Assistance and at the School of Specialization in Physical Medicine and
Rehabilitation.

He is currently member of the following Scientific Societies:


- Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
- Italian Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
- Italian Society of Shock Wave Therapy.
- Italian Society of Neurological Rehabilitation.
From 1990, he is Consultant of the Court of Milan, for the specialties of Orthopedics and Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation.
