Learning Objective(s):
What, specifically, should the student be able to do; what skills should they be able to perform, what knowledge should they be able to demonstrate as a
result of the teaching? Include Performance (What the learner is able to do), Conditions (Important conditions under which the performance is expected
to occur), and Criterion (The quality or level of performance that will be considered acceptable).
The student will be able to paint using the glazing technique in 3 different areas of their painting.
The student will practice creating at least 5 glazing techniques (colors) on their practice board.
The student will apply these 3 glazing techniques (colors) to their painting.
Teaching (Input):
What information are you going to provide to gain the knowledge or skill? How will that information be presented? Identify the 21st Century Learning
Skills and cross-curricular strategies that are incorporated into your teaching.
I am going to have the students view a YouTube video that highlights glazing techniques with acrylic paints.
The students will discuss this YouTube video with their table-mates.
The students will discuss this video with the class.
I will demo how to make 5 different colors using glazing technique on a practice board. ( The same color will be
used just varying amount of glazing liquid to give a variety translucent effects.)
I will demo how to add 3 of these glazing colors using glazing technique to a painting by adding them to my

practice painting.
(In front of the class so they can see how it is done.)

Teaching (Modeling):
Once the material has been presented, the teacher uses it to show learners examples of what is expected in terms of how to solve the problem, answer
the question, complete the activity etc.
I will demo how to mix the glazing liquid create with acrylic paint.
I will create 5 colors on my practice board.
I will choose 3 of these colors and I will paint these three colors on my practice painting.
As I paint I will ask the students questions.
What if I used a very strong color of brown for the trunk of the tree?
I MUST wait until the paint has dried to add another layer of paint.
What if I added 2 opaque colors of brown to give the tree trunk depth?
Would that help the effect the emotional appeal of my painting? Why or Why not?
Where should I place the most translucent brown color? Why?
I will ask the students to give me a thumbs up if they are successfully creating their 3 glazing colors or a thumbs
down if they are struggling.
The students that give me a thumbs down I will aid them on their creative journey.

I will also observe the student and see if they are creating their 5 glazing technique colors on their practice board
and painting.
The students will create at least 5 different glazing colors on their practice board.
The students will discuss placement of these colors with their teacher.
The student will apply 3 of these colors to their painting.
The students will be observed by their teacher during this process.
The student will create at least 5 colors of glazing on their practice board.
The student will explore the technique of adding glazing liquid to acrylic paints and its effect on the practice
boards.
The student will apply 3 of these colors to their painting in places to create depth and richness to their painting.
Assessment:
How will the learning objectives be assessed? What type(s) of assessments will be used? When will assessments take place?
The student will explore the use of glazing liquid and create at least 5 different values on their practice board.
The student will add 3 of these colors to their painting.
This will be done with 100% accuracy.
The assessment will be done informally during the class time and formally when the student turns in the painting
for a grade

Differentiation:
What will you do to account for varied abilities and learning styles in the classroom?
The information will be present through a power point and through discussion. These two method benefit the
auditory learner.
The students will discuss with their table-mates about the glazing technique. This brings in the social aspect of
learning.
The kinetic learning will benefit from making their practice board and creating their painting.
Closure:
What actions or statements will you initiate that are designed to bring a lesson presentation to an appropriate conclusion? (Used to help learners bring
things together in their own minds, to make sense out of what has just been taught.)
As the students clean up I will ask the students what they did today.
I will do this using cold call cards.
I will ask the students where they put the glazing technique colors? Why?
I will ask the students when they will use this glazing technique again?
