Importance of Sports in Daily Life
Participation in sports is very important in both children and adults, and should be
encouraged, so to help development. Playing sports offers many benefits, including health and
fitness, as well as the development of social and communication skills. Incorporating activity in

Being involved in sports activities benefits a person in many ways. It does not provide only
physical strength however it increases mental power too. Outdoor sports such as football,
cricket, volleyball, hockey, running, etc. helps in improving physical health and fitness.
Sports and games are very beneficial to us as they teach us punctuality, patient,
discipline, teamwork and dedication. Playing sports help us in building and improving
confidence level. However, some indoor games and sports like brain games, chess, Sudoku, etc
improves mental power and concentration level. Regular physical activity helps keep your key
mental skills sharp as you age. This includes critical thinking, learning, and using good
judgment. Research has shown that doing a mix of aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities is
especially helpful. Participating in this kind of activity three to five times a week for at least 30

mind is distracted from daily stressors. This can help you avoid getting bogged down by negative

develop personally, social and communication skills can be learned and developed through sport.
Teamwork, for example, is naturally learned through participating in team sports and games.
Sports makes the body active and make a good relationship with people. Communication skills
can be learned. Many people will also develop leadership skills through sport, often discovering
abilities that they never knew they even had. Sports enhance overall development.
Communication skills are important for all people. Everyone uses their own language to
communicate with one another, because no one survive without communication. Sports teaches
us how to communicate with each other. In sports, no one can survive without communication
and it is important to communicate in sports during playing. Good communication skills are
necessary in todays daily life. If, someone does not have good communication skills he or she
has a negative impact on the personal as well as professional life. Playing sports also helps
people to develop the ability to work together effectively using techniques that apply in every
situation. For example, a player communicates in Basketball by saying the pass ball to me.
Finding a way to communicate efficiently in any situation helps a person succeed in their
profession, too. People who play sports learn how to present their winning ideas to others. Also,
leaders improve their leadership ability by listening to others, and speaking. We also need
communication skills to maintain our relationships with friends and relatives. Good
communicate regularly with one another because through communication cooperation and
collaboration occur. Collaboration with one another is necessary in the workplace because it
helps to solve problems, help maintain standards of practice and create a good rapport with all
involved. Ebbeck and Waniganayake (2003, p.195) state "shared decision making is one secret of
successful management". For this to be achieved communication is essential and necessary in the
workplace.
Playing sports provides people with opportunities to develop skills. Leadership is one of
the best skills which is learned by sports. Participation in sports helps people to develop
confidence and make quick decision to succeed in leadership roles. In todays world, it has
become mandatory to individual to have leadership skill in the profession. Playing sports
presents many opportunities to show the leadership quality. For example, when a soccer player
gets a chance to score a goal, he makes the goal. Likewise, in another case, a leader needs to
consult his subordinates to plan. Playing team sports often involves developing a strategy to

overweight people so they can be fit. In the US, many people are overweight because they never
do any physical activity and never participated in sports. People who play daily are burning
calories, which is good for health. People with overweight likely to die young and suffer with
diseases. Strategies that effectively changed physical activity behavior have been based on
self-efficacy theory (Bandura, 1986, 1997). It says that if person is overweight and he wants to
lose his weight he can do with his own ability. If they will participate in some sports they can eat
whatever they want to if they are doing physical activity. For the people who are overweight
they should play Tennis its a popular dynamic sport. Research shows that tennis players tend to
have improved cardiovascular health, bone health, less body fat, and improved aerobic fitness.

It is seen that people dont participate in sports these days. They should participate more
as they will be fit in their daily life. Many people can improve their daily life with sports.
Participation in sports is good for all of us because it helps to keep mind and bodies fit in daily
life.
