UNIT/CHAPTER OBJECTIVE/GENERALIZATION/BIG IDEA:


In order for students to understand that geography influences the development of a region as well as the
interactions between people and the environment, the geography content standards have been structured to be
taught as an independent unit. Students will then utilize their geographic content knowledge and apply the skills
within their study of the continents.

LESSON OBJECTIVE:
Using computer to find which continents are from, and the students will be able to list 7 down which continents are from.
The student will be able to find them all and score 100 percent perfectly.
Given the list the major continents of the world, the students will be able to identify which continent they are belong to
with the score of four out of four on the rubric.
Using computer to find which continent come from, and list all seven it all down with specific picture they are
famous for. The students will score three out of four on the rubric.

MATERIALS:
Maps of the World
Maps of list with name of each continent
Map of the world with blank or no name so they can matching with the list
Picture of each continent famous for
Pencil
Paper

Computer

Academic Language is not addressed in IDT 3600.
This lesson is a continuation of TN social studies standard 3.12.
I am aware that the lesson will be differentiated for students who did not master the objectives and for those
ready for enrichment. However, modifications are not covered in this course and are not plan this particular
lesson.

PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:


Introduction:
Ask the student how much they know about the world
Ask each students where they are come from if the class has different ethnicity.
Ask the student if they want to find out
After finding where they are come from
Tell students to go to their computer, and sit down.
Give the students few minutes to gather their stuff
Get their map ready
Tell them that the map will be going to be tricky because the letter is small that they cannot see
the name of the continent
Show them how to use computer
Tell them where to go
Tell which website to use to find their answer
The next four days, I would expect them to finish what they find on computer.

Procedures (10 min)

Closure: At the end of the class, if they are not finish with their work, and will be continue for next few
daysday. On the final day, and by the end of the day, I would pick up the all the papers that they have listed
down, and begin to grade them.
