Subject: Project Progress

This memo is dedicated to elaborate our methods of data collection used to interact
with other TAMUQ students opinions regarding our ongoing QDrones project.
Our team mainly carried out surveys to collect data through
www.surveymonkey.com and built a survey with carefully chosen questions to avoid
biased and loaded questions. The decision to carry out a survey was taken after a
meeting during the first day of this week, 12 th of March. The survey was not
intended to collect a lot of personal information like major, GPA and class
classification; rather, the survey was keen on understanding the peoples behavior
towards the project and their reaction with the different processes needed to make
this project successful. Technical drone difficulties were not a major focus in our
survey as the common audience did not hold sufficient background or proficiency in
this field to give crucial feedback. Rather, the questions mainly revolved around the
notion of drones and how the local community at Qatar would receive such a
service. The selection of questions took about a day for our group to discuss and
settle on and hence ended the 13th of March on that progress.
The survey was sent to all students at TAMUQ through Dr. Amy and managed to
record 57 responses which seemed to support our hypothesis toward peoples
expectations of our project. Moreover, the survey showed very positive results
which would later be used to justify many decisions we have made regarding our
project. The days between the 13th to 15th March were dedicated to analyzing the
received information and to decide on which pieces of information were most
important.
The next step that our group intends to take is to infograph the survey results in
order to better ease the inference process by our audience. Our intentions as of now
are to mainly employ pie charts to illustrate the various answer distribution and
their implications. This progress is expected to take the following two days until the
end of the week.

If you have any further questions regarding our project progress or have any
suggestions that you would like us to consider, please feel free to e-mail any of our
group members.
