SUMMARY PARAGRAPH:

I chose to compare Ries Elementary to Beckley Elementary. One of

the biggest numbers in difference that I noticed was how many
more hispanics attend Beckley verses Ries which in turn makes
another big difference in how many students have english as their
second language. There is about triple the amount at Beckley.
Another significant difference I noticed was the amount of students
that are eligible for free or reduced lunch. What I found important
was the percentage of highly qualified teachers, student to teacher
ratio and the total amount of students. Based on my research it
seems that Beckley Elementary has the better numbers in all three
categories. I do believe these accountability reports are useful but
only in certain sections. The ones I mentioned earlier for instance,
those matter to me but as far as race goes, I wouldn't be concerned.
