Description: Students will acquire basic personal health concepts that help maintain healthy
behaviors and prevent disease. Seventh grade students will describe patterns of healthy
behaviors to prevent or reduce their risk of injury and /or illness throughout their lifespan.
b. Summarize the interrelationship of emotional, social, and physical health
in adolescence.

-Determine how a peer group can affect multiple dimensions of health
(e.g., food choices, participation in unhealthy activities).

Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will
introduce the SRS activity:
Prior to the SRS activity students will learn about the multiple dimensions of health. Students will also
learn about chronic and communicable diseases and how to properly prevent them. During class I will
administer the Socrative quiz I created. Students will complete one question at a time individually, when
everyone has completed that specific question I will lead a class discussion in regards to that question.

Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity
During this 50 minute activity students will complete a quiz. Students will complete one question at a time.
When all of the students have completed the question, I will lead a class discussion in regards to that

question. The materials needed for this activity include an IPad for each student, a computer for me, and a
projector.

As students complete their questions, I will sit at a computer and read a few of their responses. I will use
the projector to show the current question they should be answering. I will do this in order to lessen
confusion and assure that my students are on task. I will also scan the room to see if any of my students
need help or clarification.

that all of my students know and understand the basis of the discussion that will take place after this test.

The information collected will be used to facilitate a class discussion. The completion of this activity will
be used for a participation grade for each student. The information provided by students will not be shared
unless it constitutes privy information that I would be mandated to report.

Describe what will occur after the SRS activity:


A class discussion will occur following each question answered by all students, leading into a general class
discussion on what we have covered in class.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
I hope to gain knowledge about my students on a personal level in order to tailor my future lessons for them
in regards to relevance and student needs. By doing this activity I hope that my students learn about
themselves, and each other in order to build personal connections to each other and the content Im
delivering. I also hope that this activity helps my students analyze their personal factors of influence in
order to better handle those influences in order to increase their personal overall health.
