CANDIDATE STATEMENTS

CHAIR NANCY RAFF

Nancy Raff has served as Chair of the Normandy Chapter of Democrats Abroad for the last two years and
previously served as Treasurer of the Chapter for four years. She hopes to guide the organization through
this difficult political period and to assure a successful get out the vote campaign for special elections
and for the mid-term elections in 2018. She will uphold the special role of the Normandy Chapter in the
commemoration and remembrance activities associated with D-Day. A native of New York City, she has
been based in France since 1995 where she worked until recently as an IT Project Manager for Hewlet
Packard.

VICE-CHAIR THOMAS KLEINGARTNER

Thomas Kleingartner has served as Vice-Chair of the Normandy Chapter since its creation in 2009. He
lives in Bayeux where he runs his own business developing and maintaining websites. Born and raised in
California, he moved to Paris in 1994 and then to Normandy full-time. Thomas is commited to
supporting Democrats Abroad France and is confident that our modest actions in Normandy help remind
expatriates in our region that their vote maters.

SECRETARY CANDICE STEVENS

Candice Stevens has served as Secretary of the Normandy Chapter for the past two years and was
previously the Chair of the Chapter for four years. She will continue to work with the Normandy Bureau
and France Executive Commitee to maintain timely communications with Normandy Chapter members
and to keep the website updated (www.democratsabroad.org/fr_normandy). Candice worked for the
OECD in Paris for 25 years and she and her husband have retired to their home in Vieux-Port, Normandy.

TREASURER JULIE HANSON

Julie Hanson has served as Treasurer of the Normandy Chapter for the past two years and was previously
Elections Officer for the Chapter. A native of Colorado, she moved to France in the 1980s and now lives
with her husband in Rouen, where she teaches English to French students.
