Instructional Procedures(s):
1. Students are given the assignment two weeks in advanced. The teacher will stress the instructions of
the project. The instructions will also be given in Spanish as well.
2. Then the students will have two weeks to work on the project by themselves at home.
3. Two weeks later the students will have to bring in their projects that are due to class on that day.
4. The students will be given instructions that they have to take notes while peers are presenting and to
listen carefully because they will have to write a paragraph after the presentations are over.
5. Presentations begin.
6. Questions are asked throughout each presentation. During this time the projector is used to look up the
person that the student researched. This can be used to see their picture and see if their visual or doll
represents the person well. The computer is also used to find out if the information in the brochure is
accurate.
7. Presentations are over.
8. Students will write their paragraphs about what they have learned throughout this process and the
presentations.
9. The paragraphs are collected when the students are finished.
10. As students finish their paragraphs they move into math.
Formative/Summative Assessment:
Within the lesson, explain how the teacher assessed if the students met the objectives.
- Formative Assessment- Students taking notes on their peers presentations and writing a summary of
what they learned post presentations. This can be done in 5-6 sentences. The grade will be part of
participation.
- Summative Assessment- Students will be graded on the entire project. This will count in gradebook
for a project grade. This will be assessed using a rubric to help the students understand their grade.
