Top-down assembly modeling

With top-down assembly modeling, you can create geometry at the assembly level, and move or copy the geometry to one or more components. You can:
Select geometry that is currently at the assembly level and move it to a new component.
Copy geometry and paste it in the new component. Do this, for example, if you are going to export the same geometry to other new components.
Select no geometry to create a new instance of an existing template or a blank part.

Use the Create New Component command to create new part files in native NX or items in Teamcenter Integration for NX. Depending on your settings, you can select features and
have NX automatically transfer parent objects of the selected feature.
If you select a sketch that resides on a datum CSYS, NX can copy the sketch and the datum CSYS.
If you select a body that was extruded from a sketch, NX can move the body and the sketch.
NX maintains all associative relationships.
