Greetings To Our Empower Student Supporters,

Well, it is possible that Spring has sprung, with this nice weather. This means we are
inching closer to the end of the school year and earning credits for learning. It is also the
time of the year when some students start a spring lag, and we ask your help in keeping
our young learners focused on learning.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO, PLEASE FILL OUT THE PARENT SURVEY. WE
ARE WORKING TO GET A 100% RETURN. YOUR FEEDBACK IS IMPORTANT
TO US AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF OUR PROGRAM. IF YOU SENT THE
SURVEY BACK, THANK YOU.

Our building has seen some major work in these last two weeks. Thank you for your
understanding last week when we had to send students home. That day, major demolition
was taking place and it just was not helping the learning environment. Since that time
they have finished the drywalling and we are ready to start painting. The students have
picked out some interesting colors that will enhance creativity upstairs, and we will be
painting in the next couple of weeks. There will be a few days we will be telling students
to wear some painting close.

You will see that April is a busy month for us here at Empower. Besides learning projects
and working on the building, we also have some learning experiences set outside of the
school. Big thanks to Michele Hall for giving us the information on our trip to Superior
at the end of the month. Please take note of all the activities below.

With the building remodel moving along now, we want to update you on our expectations
for next year. We are looking to expand the program next year to 20-25 students. We
will divide the students into two advisories of 12 students and one advisor. This will
require us to bring on another staff member into the program as well. If the Bonding
issue passes, we may even be able to move a school garage behind our building and
convert it into a woodworking shop. We are excited about the potential for our program
as we grow next year.
