Audition Checklist

The Slate- An introduction of yourself and the material you will be

performing.
Example: Hello, Im (full name), and today I will be performing (song), from
(musical).

Audition Checklist:

1. Walk into the room with confidence!

2. Greet the casting staff!
a. You may go up to the table and shake their hands (if

3 people or less).
b. Make a connection!
3. Greet the pianist and discuss your audition cut.
a. Tell them what the song is/what show it is from.
b. Explain how the cut will start. (EX: You start singing

first, then the piano starts; The piano starts first, then you

start...etc.)
c. Sing/talk through the first couple measures to

establish the tempo.

d. Point out any cuts within the cut!!
4. Do your slate as yourself!
a. Be as relaxed as possible.
b. Do not be an emotionless robot.
c. Annunciate!
5. SANG.
6. Say thank you! And dont forget your music on the way out!
