Parno Isworo

Parno Isworo has more than 30 years experience in corporate finance, business strategy
and management, principally in the power sector. He served for 10 years as the Chief
Financial Officer (CFO) of PLN, the national electric power utility of Indonesia, a company
with more than USD 30 billion in assets and annual revenue of more than USD 17 billion.
He began his term as CFO in 1998 at the onset of the Asian financial crisis. During his
tenure he renegotiated Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Independent Power
Producers (IPPs), successfully proposed changes to the national electric power tariff,
restructured PLNs corporate debt, and oversaw the development and implementation of
an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for the company. Supported by his strong
analytical skills combined with his abilities for presentation, negotiation and team building,
the Board managed PLN through the difficult crisis years and returned the company to
financial viability by 2004.

Since his retirement from PLN he has devoted his expertise to supporting the development
of the energy sector, especially geothermal energy. For example, he was the lead
consultant for the development of a risk allocation framework for a set of geothermal
power projects in West Java under Castlerocks assignment with the Government of
Indonesia for the establishment of the Public Private Partnership Central Unit. He continues
to advise both government and the private sector on power sector strategy in general, and
geothermal development in particular.

Parno received his MBA from Monash University, Australia, and a BSc in Electrical
Engineering from Institute Technology of Bandung, Indonesia.
