BY STEP INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO INSTALL X-TREND

FOR 32 & 64 BIT WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM

Turn off the internet or wifi connection. (Most users fail to do this and error occurs while software
installation). If the software was previously installed in the system please uninstall it, then copy the X-
Trend file from C:

Program Files

Xtrend to some other location and delete the Xtrend Folder from

Program Files

C:

Xtrend and also uninstall SpectraPro and copy its contents to some other drive and
delete the SpectraPro folder from C:

SpectraPro (C:

Program Files

SpectraPro in older operating
systems) then run a registry clean preferably with CCleaner or any of the registry cleaner available. If
you are unaware to run a registry cleaner please contact your IT Department.

1. Dont forget to turn off the wifi or internet connection in your PC.
2. Go to the Xtrend installation file and open the Autorun folder, there right click the Autorun
application and click Run as Administrator. Then click Ok.
3. A dialog box appears click Install X-Trend then follow the procedure.

4. A series of steps occur click Ok to all the steps.

5. Then the installation abruptly stops and you will see a new icon in the taskbar.
6. Click that icon
7. A window opens.
8. Click ok.
9. Then click the computer icon in this window.
10. Now it will install visual basic components. (Sometimes a java error appears click I wish to
continue and I understand the risk).
11. Now the visual basic completes its installation and the previous window will appear, there click
Finish.
12. You will find the X-Trend icon in the desktop

13. Open the X-Trend software and create a database and perform Route Edit.
14. Now connect the X-Viber instrument to the computer (X-Viber need not be turned on).
15. An error will occur stating Device not successfully installed.
16. Now if using a 32 bit system follow these steps.

For 32 Bit system

 Right click Computer icon
Click Manage
Click Device Manager

showing error or yellow colour will be there.
 Right click it and click update drivers.
 Now choose Let me install by browsing the computer folders.
 Now a dialog box appears click browse and state the drive where X-Trend installation file is
and click ok.
 Now click Finish.
 In some PC the error may still appear and still the notification shows device not installed
successfully. Ignore the message.
 Now open X-Trend and you can communicate with X-Viber (In case you are not able to
communicate X-Viber with X-Trend then follow procedure of 64 Bit System).
 Transfer the route file to X-Viber take a set of readings and re-transfer it.
 Now close the X-Trend. (Many fail to do this step).

For 64 Bit system

 For 64 bit system go to the X-Viber USB Drivers folder.

 There open CDM v2.10.00 WHQL Certified.
 There open i386 folder.
 There copy the xviber.dll file and paste it in C:
Program Files (x86)
Xtrend and click
paste.
 Right click Computer icon
Click Manage
Click Device Manager

17. Now again go to the installation dialog box which is shown above and click install Service Pack.
18. Click ok and click finish.
19. Now you can work with X-Trend

In Case of Communication Error:

In case a user faces any communication error while communicating the Instrument with X-Trend, then
the following are the steps to resolve the issue:

20. Go to V-ID Folder, open XVIBER.DLL, there you will find XViber.dll file, copy that file and paste it
at C:
Program Files
Xtrend (In case of 32 Bit System) & C:
Program Files (x86)
Xtrend (In
case of 64 Bit System).
21. Now connect X-Viber to the PC (Instrument need not be turned on)
22. Now go to V-ID Folder
Zadig
Windows 7 & up
Right Click zadig and click Run as
Administrator and click yes.
23. Now a Dialog Box Opens as Below:

24. Do as Below:

25. Click on the arrow and select XViber Instrument

26. In the right panel to the "Driver", click one of the arrows until "WinUSB (v6.1.7600.16385)"
appears.

27. Click either Install Driver or Replace or Reinstall Driver.

28. At the bottom left is displayed "Driver Installation: SUCCESS".

29. Close the application.
30. Start the X Trend in the PC, click the "Transfer" and select the "X-Viber".
31. Now open X-Trend and you can communicate with X-Viber.
32. Transfer the route file to X-Viber take a set of readings and re-transfer it.
33. Now again go to the installation dialog box which is shown above and click install Service Pack.
34. Click ok and click finish.
35. Now you can work with X-Trend
