thepowerrailinsteadofgroundwouldbeanimprovement.
Alsothefrequencyshouldbematchedagainsttheinductanceofthe

poweritcangivetotheloadbutthepeakheatdissipation(wastedenergyinthe

Inthisdesign,poorswitchingofthemosfetmaybethelimitingfactorforthe

IusedmyplasmaspeakerforoverayearnowbutIhaveaproblem.
Ialwaysusedalaptoppowersupply(90watt)fortheflybacktransformerand
lastweekIboughtaheavydutypowersupply(50volt/16amps,800VA)and
nowIkilledmyMOSFET(IRF640).MyquestioniswichMOSFETcanIusefor
pullingafewhundredwattswithoutkillingit.ThemaxtheIRF640tookwas26
voltsandabout3.80amps(at30voltand4ampsitblewup).Ihada2SK1082
MOSFETlayingarroundbutthatdoesntworkverywell.Igotaverylittlearc
fromthatone.
