REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2009-153

AN ORDINANCE ON DIRECTIONAL TRAFFIC PROHIBITIONS
(LEFT TURNS, ONE WAY, ETC.) FOR ALL VEHICLES IN THE
CITY OF ILOILO, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES THEREOF

And seconded by Councilors Antonio V. Pesina, Jr. and Lyndon V. Acap

WHEREAS, it has been nearly twenty years, since the last major ordinance on
directional traffic prohibitions was encated.

WHEREAS, considering the progressively increasing volume of vehicles plying

the streets of Iloilo City, there is a need to re-establish directional traffic prohibitions in
order to provide safety, order and convenience.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iloilo

City, by the powers vested in it by law, in session assembled that:

Section. 1 Left turns shall be PROHIBITED in the following areas:

Crossing of vehicles from F. Caram A venue towards Iznart Street passing the
right side of the monument of the Plazoleta Gay.

Section 4. Prohibitions stated under Sections 1, 2 and 3 shall apply to ALL

vehicles including trisikads.

Section 5. Any person who violates Sections 1 and 2 of this ordinance will be
subject to a fine of Two Hundred Pesos (P200.00) as provided for under SectionlA of
Regulation Ordinacne 2008-393.

Section 6. Any person who violates Section 3 of this ordinance will be subject to
a fine of Three Hundred Pesos (P300.00) as provided for under Section lB of Regulation
Ordinacne 2008-393.

Section 7. Repealing Clause

All other ordinances, executive orders, resolutions, regulations or part thereof, in

conflict with the provision of this Ordinance are hereby repealed and revised.

Section 8. Separability Clause

If any provision of this Ordinance or the application thereof, to any person or

circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of this ordinance and the application of such
provision to other person or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.

Section 9. Effectivity

This ordinance shall take effect after publication in a newspaper of general

circulation in the City and Province of Iloilo.
