NEPALESE CIVIL AIRWORTHINESS REQUIREMENTS

FOREWORD

Nepalese Civil Airworthiness Requirements, known hereafter as N.C.A.R. are issued by the Civil
Aviation Authority of Nepal in pursuance of the Article 3 of the Civil Aviation Act 1959 (2015
B.S.). These Requirements complement and amplify the Civil Aviation Rules 1996
(2052 B.S.)

These Requirements constitute a minimum series of standards for the establishment and
continuance of the airworthiness of aircraft, aircraft engineering and maintenance,
licencing/approval of persons and approval of organizations which shall be observed at all times
unless exemption is granted in writing by the Director General or by an authorized person.

The Nepalese Civil Airworthiness Requirements shall apply to all civil aircraft registered in Nepal
and, if specifically stated, to foreign aircraft operating within the Kingdom of Nepal. In the case
of conflict between N.C.A.R. and The Act, The Rules, The Act and The Rules shall prevail.

The 2002 Edition of N.C.A.R. supershades any applicable requirements in force prior to that date
and the requirements are rearranged and renumbered. Certificates, licences, approvals or
authorizations issued previously by the Director General will continue to be in force. Where the
applicable requirements have changed, and unless otherwise approved, compliance with the
current N.C.A.R. will be necessary to retain the existing approval or to qualify for the renewal of
any certificates, licences, approvals or authorizations.

Each owner or operator of civil aircraft shall hold sufficient copies of the N.C.A.R. and shall
ensure that these Requirements are provided for all persons operating or maintaining his aircraft
to have access to a copy whilst on duty.

The requirements in this 2002 Edition comes into force on 1 March 2002.
