Myra has a solid grasp on planning for instruction to meet the various learning needs in her classroom. She plans for
small-group instruction in order to differentiate to the individual student level. She has demonstrated that she is
adaptable and flexible with instruction, as needed, due to the changing school schedule.

Myra provides effective instruction using her well-planned lesson as the foundation for success. With a high-quality plan
in place, she follows the plan, adjusting instruction in the moment, when necessary. Activities are age-appropriate and
student-centered. Students were engaged in learning during each teaching observation period.

Myra used classroom-level learning data to make instructional decisions about small-group language arts lessons. I
observed primarily formative assessment. I would like to see more evidence of summative assessment especially in
regards to how students are progressing over time in her classroom. Myra give gentle and supportive feedback to
students.

Myra excels in the small-group setting where interactions and redirection are more individualistic. She is still growing in
managing the whole group in regards to keeping students on task and especially managing the group when they are
overly excited about an activity. She will likely become better at recognizing when students need to be redirected and
not allowed to talk over her instruction. Observations indicated that the students feel respected and cared for by Ms.
Myra Verdes.

Again, classroom observations of the lessons and how children are progressing indicates that Myra is doing these things
but I need her to be more intentional about showing me evidence during my visits, in the form or charts, grade books,
etc. of how she is meeting these standards. By doing so, she will likely bring her rating up in this area.
