Planned, site surveyed, implemented and optimized free public access as well as securewirelessinternetfortheCityofElPaso,Texas. Thepublic
access Wi-Fi was set up inseveralpubliclibraries,thecitysMuseumofArtandtheMuseumofHistory. PrivateWi-Fiaccesswasimplemented
at various police stations and throughoutthe12floorsofCityHall.TasksincludedconvertingnumerousCiscoAironetAPsfromautonomous
to lightweight and tuning them to the optimal channels and frequencies per site requirements. At each client site, VLANs were created on
various model Cisco Catalyst Switches, for the proper DHCP scopeallocation,networksegmentationandsecurity.ThedesignatCityHallwas
setupusingaCisco4402WLCusingWCSforcentralmanagement.

Designed, configured and maintained a newnetworkfortheLawOfficeofLutherE.Jones.Involvedweretheinitialinceptionofcablinganddevice
placement,coolingandequipmentpurchasing. DualCiscoCatalyst3750Gswitcheswereusedforbothroutingandswitchingneeds,usingstack
wise technology and HSRP for high availability and redundancy. EIGRP was chosen as the routing protocol for inter-VLAN routing and
communications. Other tasks included the installation of Microsoft 2008 Servers for secure data storage andbackup,severalnewWindows7
clientswereinstalledaswell.Remoteandon-sitemonitoringservicesandupgradeswereperformedafterdeployment.

Initial consultation was given as tothenetworksoverallperformanceandremediationofbottlenecks,aswellasageneralsecurityanalysis. Afterthe
assessment, new Cisco routers and switches were used to replace a mixture of technologies which did not include Cisco, for unification. All
router IOS were updated to their latest 12.4 versions and on and onsite TFTP Server was setup for IOS andconfigurationbackup/retrieval.
Previously using RIP, OSPF was implemented to allow for scalability and an overall speed and performance increase. Differentdepartments
wereseparatedbythecreationofnewVLANsforincreasedsecurity,properseparationofdutiesandeaseofmanagement.

In charge of The El Paso Independent School Districts 12 high schools. Campuses informationtechnologytasksincludedresolvingtroubletickets
submitted to the help desk in queue, or immediate resolution of timecriticalissues.Computerandnetworksystemmaintenance,upgradesand
troubleshooting involved extremely diversehardwareandsoftware,supportingover1600studentsandstaff. Largeprojectrolloutsincludedthe
deployment of 20 computer labs for the 9th Grade Initiative project, spread throughout 10 of the high school campuses. The deployment
involved the installation and configuration of a new special education network, consisting of Windows 2000 servers, Windows98clients,and
othernetworkingequipment.
