about the judicial system in Canada. On
their website, they have a whole section
dedicated to teacher resources. Under this
section, there is a whole activity book that
explains this building to kids and has fun
activities to help educate them. There is also an educational tour,
a mock trial, and links. In addition to these sources, students that
live locally can visit the site. If students cannot get there, they
can still look at pictures in the online gallery. This would be a
great resource for social studies instruction since students would
be learning about the judicial system and an important building
in this country, its purposes, and the judges.

c. The Mugga-Mugga Cottage, located in the
country of Australia, is a place where visitors
can see what it was like to live on the farm in
the 1800s. While visiting, people can see the
cottage that represents where people lived. In
the cottage, there is furniture and items
commonly found in houses during this time. For students, they
can go on a field trip where they can learn what living conditions
were like through a presentation called Country Life. If students
could not travel here, there is a virtual tour on the website. The
virtual tour lets students see the land, and it feels like they are
actually there since they can move the map around. This would
be a great social studies resource to teach students what it was
like to live during a historical time period hundreds of years ago,
and they can learn about a culture different from their own.

Roman and Medieval time periods, and the 2012 Olympic games.
This museum works with schools to plan educational field trips.
In addition to going to the museum, they offer
different sessions where workers visit the
school to educate students, and there are
resources online to learn about historical
events in London. This is a social studies
resource for grades PreK-4 because they are
learning about the history of London and
about how this city came to be. They have a lot of different
options for learning online, which makes this resource unique.

the history of transportation. While at the
museum, visitors get the opportunity to
look at many different types of vehicles

vehicles from a wide range of time periods. There are also other
artifacts, such as equipment, located here and on display. On the
website, you are able to look at different pictures of the vehicles
and read a description about them. This website would be a
great social studies resource because students would be learning
about the history of transportation in Ireland. They can either
visit this site as a field trip or use it as a resource in the
classroom.

Located in the capital of this country, this building was once used
as a military base. It was also a royal palace at a previous time.
Today, it is a historical site for people to visit. On their website,
you can go through the history of the castle to learn about it.
When visiting, one can go on a tour to learn about the history of
the castle. They provide schools with free visits, and they cover a
wide variety of topics when schools visit. There are also teacher
resources on their website. This social studies resource would be
great to incorporate into the classroom because the castle has a
unique background that plays a role in history. Whether going on
a tour or using the resources on the website, students will learn
about the Edinburgh Castle and Scotland
through this source.

different outfits that firefighters wore

safety. On the website, all of these different sources can be
downloaded in English. This museum and website would be a
great social studies resource for students because it focuses on
community helpers, specifically firefighters. In addition, students
would also be learning about the history of firefighting in Japan.

of Wales Museum, is located in the country
of India. The overall goal of the museum is
to teach visitors about the history of the
land through art and different artifacts.
Some of the different artifacts include
sculptures, photos, paintings, and art. All of them have historical
value to them and are a part of the Indian culture. On the
website, there is also a tab for education that has resources for
teachers and students. In the museum, they have a research
library that has different books for students to conduct research.
This would be a great social studies research because students
are being exposed to a culture that is different from their own.
They are also learning about the history of India.

Whenever Stibbert passed away, he gave his museum to the city
of Florence so people of the future can continue to learn about
the history of armor and the time period. At the museum,
students would be able to see the different armor worn in
different lands and countries during this
time period, as well as different paintings
and pieces of art. In addition, there is a
garden for students to look at. On their
website, they have different pictures and
descriptions of what is being shown at the
museum. This could always be shown to
the class so they can see what armor
looked like in previous centuries. The Stibbert Museum would be
a social studies resource for students in a PreK-4 classroom
because they will be learning about the history of Frederick
Stibbert and the history during the time period he was living.
9. Acropolis Museum

the Middle Ages time period. Some of the artifacts here are
everyday objects that people used in Greece during this

statues and artifacts found there. There are also videos on
the website that can be watched to learn about these ancient
times in Greece. I believe that this would be a social studies
resource because students will be introduced to mythology and
the ancient time periods of Greece. On the website, they have a
whole section dedicated to education. One could find different
resources for learning and field trips for different age groups on
the website. One feature that is really cool is the fact that they
have educational opportunities for schools that are in different
countries.
10. Frida Kahlo Museum

c. Frida Kahlo is a famous artist who lived
in both Mexico and the United States of
America. The museum, also known as
the Blue House, was once her home
when she lived here in Mexico. In the
museum, students have the
opportunity to learn about a historical
figure that is known all around the
world. They will have the opportunity to see how a historical
figure lived her life and see some of the different artwork she
created. This would be a wonderful social studies resource since
students will be learning about a different culture, a different
lifestyle, and a famous historical figure. There are many different
books and resources available to go along with this resource as
well.
