Description of the Project (max of 500 words)
Describe your research idea. What are the goals of the project? Why do you think your idea is creative, innovative
or disruptive? Describe the hypothesis and/or specific objectives for your proposal. What essential data will you
generate during your award? Explain why you think your research will succeed?
Avoid motherhood statements, such as curing a disease or saving the planet. Be as honest as possible on what you
can accomplish with the budget for this specific project.
Research Branding (max of 300 words)
Why do you think the project proposal is aligned to the new branding statement of CHED research?
Building a higher education strategic research portfolio to spawn an army of 21st century intellectual
capital with playful and curious minds, propensity for disruptive innovation, love of country and global
intellectual presence.

Context of the Research (max. of 400 words)


You must have been inspired by something you have read or observed that led you to submit this proposal. Explain
what you know about your topic and cite peer-reviewed research papers. Focus only on the most relevant literature.

Project Significance and Stakeholder Demand (max. of 300 words)


Why is your research question worth working on? Why should the CHED allocate its limited research funds to
support your research? You may start by stating the research question, the gaps in knowledge and why having data
is immediately valuable. Discuss the intellectual merit of the proposed study. Explain in the next paragraph about
the relevance and broader impact of the research to your target beneficiaries or stakeholders, to the scientific
community and others.
Does your proposal build on a previous project? Describe the need or demand for this new research proposal.
Methodology (max. of 400 words)

Describe your experimental design, the key methods, including new technologies or tools to be developed. You
should be able to accomplish all of these goals within the budget and time period of the proposal. You may
provide a link to your protocols or cite relevant references.

You may supplement this section illustrations, such as flowcharts, diagrams of prototype, etc.
Mentoring Plan and Impact to Instruction and Extension (max of 400 words)
How will the proposal support projects of undergraduate, masteral and doctoral students? Describe the mentoring
activities that you plan to implement in of support their academic development? You may consult the Federation
of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) Individual Development Plan for post-docs and grad
students (https://myidp.sciencecareers.org) for ideas on improving mentoring and coaching in a research setting.

What is the impact of the research on the improvement of instruction modalities? Does the research have a
