Norway.TheCO2exhaustwillthenbeusedasindustrialraw
material.CO2andsaltwaterwillturnintocalciumchlorideand
sodaash,which,amongstotherendproducts,isusedintheproductionofglass.

KollsnesBKKisproducingpowerandheatbasedonwastegasfromGasnor'sLNGplant.TheCO2
emissionisjustover30.000tonnesperyear,equivalenttoemissionsfromaround10.000carsdriving
15000kilometersperyear.EnProwillcapturetheseemissionsanduseitindustrially.
Todayweareutilizingawastesourceinourproductionofenergy.Agoodenvironmentalproject
isbecomingevenbetterwithCO2capture.EnProhasanexcitingtechnologyandBKKisexcited
tocontributeinacooperationthatinthelongruncanprovideforgreatbenefitsfortheclimate,
saysWencheTeigland,corporatedirectorEnergyinBKK.

Thetechnologyhasbeenthoroughlytested
EnProhasademonstration,developmentandtestcentreinAbuDhabi,theUAE.
Thetechnology,whichisapostcombustiontechnology,hasbeenfullytestetforCO2handling
foroverayear,andtheproductshavebeenanalyzedandcertifiedtobeofhighand
commerciallyacceptablequalitybyaninternationallaboratory,saysChristianTheiste,managing
directorinEnPro.
WeareaNorwegiancompanyandwethinkitisexcitingtohavetheopportunitytobringhome
thetechnologyanddemonstrateCO2reductioninindustrialscale,saysTheiste.

ComparedwiththetwosodaashproductionprocessesoftodaytheEnProprocessranks
veryfavourably.Bothplantcapexaswellasenergyconsumptionpertonsodaasharelow.Thereare
nobyproductsfromtheEnProprocess,suchaschlorineorammoniaandtheenergyconsumptionto
runtheprocessislow.

95%reductionofCO2emission
TheEnProprocesswillhaveanetreductionofCO2installationemissionatKollsnesofabove
95%.Theglobalconsumptionofsodaashisestimatedtoincreasewithupto5%peryearuntil2015.
Thisincreaseis,amongstother,duetoincreasingglassproduction,soap/detergentproductionand
watertreatmentinChina,SouthEastAsia,IndiaandSouthAmerica.IntheglobalCO2balancethe
EnProprocesswillalsohaveasignificanteffect.
