Method of the CETUR for the calculation of the capacity of the public squares.
The CETUR (It centers d' Etudes DES Transports Urbains), nowadays call CERTU, is
dependent organism of the French Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports that
comes to be the equivalent one of the SETRA for the urban scope. In 1986 it
proposed a simplified method of calculation of the capacity that is inspired by
the studies of the CETE d' Aix (described previously). The well-known as method
CETUR-86 is a formula to find the capacity of an entrance of a roundhouse in
which the annular circulation takes place in a single row and the entrance has a
single track. If these conditions are not fulfilled it must resort to
transformations to turn it to an equivalent situation. Method CETUR-86 consists
of an improvement of the traditional rule of the 1500 that it indicates that so
that an entrance of a roundhouse works correctly the sum of the traffics
incoming and annoying must be inferior to 1500 light vehicles per hour.
Determination of the annoying traffic Salient traffic As the idea has already
been mentioned previously to consider a part of the salient traffic as is not
new and amply is based. In method CETUR-86 they consider like annoying
percentage of salient traffic that go of 0% for the most favorable case (very
great deflectora islet and/or via of exit specially prepared) to 30% for the
worse possible situation (this is, in absence of deflectora islet), but also
must consider the visibility, the practiced dimensions of the central small
barren island and speeds.
Trfico circulante
Debido a que el mtodo CETUR-86 solo tiene en cuenta aquellas rotondas con circulacin
anular en una sola fila, se debe calcular un trfico circulante equivalente (llamado trfico
prioritario de referencia) cuando la circulacin en el anillo se produce en dos filas.
Este trfico circulante equivalente no se puede calcular dividiendo el trfico total circulante
entre el nmero de vas de circulacin, sino que se deben tener en cuenta otras
consideraciones:
- En rotondas urbanas de tamao reducido (radio del islote central comprendido
entre 5 y 15 m, lo que implica rotondas de dimetros que van de 26 a 46 m) el CETUR
se inspira en el mtodo del CETE dAix y considera que el trfico prioritario de
referencia es del orden del 90 % del trfico total.
- Para grandes rotondas (radio del islote central de unos 30 m, es decir rotondas de
ms de 75 metros) segn el CETE dAix recomienda un utilizar trfico prioritario de
referencia igual al 70 % del trfico total.
Circulating traffic Because single method CETUR-86 considers those roundhouses
with annular circulation in a single row, an equivalent circulating traffic is
due to calculate (call high-priority traffic of reference) when the
circulation in the ring takes place in two rows. This equivalent circulating
traffic cannot be calculated dividing the circulating total traffic between the
platform number of circulation, but that are due to consider others
considerations: - In urban roundhouses of reduced size (radio of the
included/understood central small barren island between 5 and 15 ms, which
implies roundhouses of diameters that go of the 26 to 46 ms) CETUR it is
inspired by the method of the CETE d' Aix and considers that the high-priority
traffic of reference is of the order of 90% of the total traffic. - For great
roundhouses (radio of the central small barren island of about 30 ms, that is to
say, roundhouses of more than 75 meters) according to the CETE d' Aix it
recommends to use high-priority traffic of equal reference to 70% of the total
traffic.
Anchura de la entrada
Si la entrada de la rotonda est constituida por dos carriles, el volumen de trfico admisible
por la entrada aumenta aproximadamente un 40 % (respecto una entrada con un solo carril),
esto fija el trfico secundario de referencia en un 70 % del trfico secundario total.
Recta de capacidad del CETUR
Tras numerosas observaciones el CETUR decidi ajustar una recta por su simplicidad de
clculo. Esta recta resulta como sigue:
- Para un trfico molesto nulo, el trfico entrante resulta ser el mximo y para una
entrada de una sola va la capacidad es de 1500 veh/h (lo que equivale a intervalos
entre vehculos de 2,4 segundos).
- Si el trfico molesto Qg supera los 1800 veh/h se considera que el trfico entrante es
nulo (entrada saturada).
