Its my pleasure to connect with you in the new
year, and hoping youve had a great 2017 so far!
Even though its only 4 months in, I take great pride
in some of the strides that weve made together.
A major milestone for Uber Malaysia was the launch
of 3 new cities in Malaysia, in conjunction with our
3rd anniversary. The launches of these new cities
bring economic opportunities to driver-partners in
Alor Setar, Langkawi and Miri in addition to the 9
cities that we already operate in.
Weve also tried to mark special events and
occasions with our driver-partners by running
campaigns for both Chinese New Year and our 3rd
anniversary in Malaysia. Thank you all for
participating so enthusiastically - and stay tuned for
more to come with the Ramadan season and Hari
Raya being just around the corner!
In our efforts to continually support our partners all
over Malaysia, we have Partner Support Centers (PSC)
in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor Bahru and we
will be launching one soon in Kota Kinabalu. We want
to ensure that all of you can get the support you
need, when you need it. In our KL PSC, we have also
partnered with TAL Tyres to offer special discounts to
partners to meet all their car servicing needs.

DRIVER DESTINATION WITH DEADLINE

Got an important appointment you cant miss or perhaps you need to be back home
within a certain time? No problem! With this new feature, youll be able to set a
time-specific deadline that will allow you to reach your set destination on time.

IMPROVED TOLLS CALCULATION

We heard your toll woes and were proud to announce that we have updated toll fares
for 63 tolls across Malaysia, including the new ones that were not previously captured
within our system. Some examples of tolls that we have updated include: ELITE - KLIA,
NPE PJS5, PLUS Subang, and more!

WAITING AREAS & FLAT KLIA FARES

We have introduced new waiting zones at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 1 and 2
in order to enhance your experience when picking up riders. With it comes new flat
fares for uberX, uberXL and UberBLACK from the airport. Now its even more rewarding

CELEBRATING
International Womens Day
In conjunction with International Womens
Day celebrations on 7 March 2017, Uber
Malaysia celebrated the day by hosting an
evening of splendid talks and canapes for
our female driver-partners. Our goal was to
celebrate the female driver-partners on our
platform and their contribution to the
economy and community.
The intimate setting at Hello Deer in
Uptown Damansara featured three very
special guest speakers - Katrina Taib and
Lin Tan, the founders of Aloha Cycle and
Rubberduck Cafe and Daisy Ng, the founder
of Trinity Kids Malaysia. The speakers took
the time to share their journey and
experiences towards becoming influential
women entrepreneurs. With this years
global theme #BeBoldForChange, our guest
speakers channelled nothing short of
positive and good advice to start
businesses as women. Partners were also
pleasantly surprised with a short video clip
from Sazzy Falak who thanked them and
encouraged them to stand united and
support each other.
It was a soiree to remember, as female
partners even contributed towards sharing
their unique Uber stories. Towards the end
of the night, a female driver-partner
expressed,
Ive always believed that
women should remain
independent. Its empowering
to know that Uber supports
this too by providing equal
opportunities for all, especially
women,to become part of the
driver-partner community.

 Roundtable Sessions

This year, the Uber team will be hosting more
frequent roundtable sessions with driver-partners
to hear your feedback on your experience with the
Uber platform. In the previous months, we have
been busy conducting roundtable sessions in
Penang, Johor Bahru and KL.
For the month of March, we had 42 female partners
from KL join us for a focus group discussion session.
Our goal was to identify some of the positive and
negative experiences that our female partners have
throughout their journey with us.
When asked why they were driving on the Uber
platform, some of our partners shared that It gives
me something to do in my retirement and help keep
financing my family and Uber doesnt involve any
deadlines, stress or reports. You are your own boss.
Others also iterated that they enjoy interacting with
different riders every day and they appreciated the
feature which allows driver-partners to rate the
riders resulting in a fairer system.
Some topics brought up during the session included
safety and security for both driver-partners and
riders as well as ratings and quality of service.
Partners have also pooled together some
suggestions on improving the Uber experience such
as reducing queue times at the airports, in-app
messaging for easier communication with riders and
quicker access to an emergency hotline via the app.
We have taken these inputs and suggestions into
consideration and are continuously working to
improve our services and provide all our partners
with a seamless experience on the Uber platform.
