Our Mystery Book Report

Did you know about our mystery book
report? Well if you didnt I will tell you. Why
Mrs. Anderson choose a mystery book report
was because she and other teachers didnt
think that kids were reading enough mystery
books. Your child can select any type of
mystery book for example Nancy Drew, A to Z
Mysteries, Boxcar Children. This book report is
very important it is going to be on our report
card. The due date is Tuesday Feb 21. Hope
your child gets an A+!
Gifted program

Have you ever heard of gifted? If you
dont, I can tell you about it. In gifted Ms.
Bardon thinks that it is a program for kids who
need harder challenges. In gifted Mrs.
Anderson thinks that it is a good program for
students who need more challenging work. In
gifted the students are studying the brain. They
are looking at the Wernickes area, Bocas area,
Occipital area, and the Parietal area. Gifted
students think that gifted is fun, challenging,
and experiencing.

On February 20th it is Presidents Day
.We do not have school to celebrate George
Washingtons birthday. We have been
celebrating since 1796. People started
celebrating on George Washingtons final
year being president .I think it is important to
celebrate President Day to celebrate what
George Washington did for us.
Fast Forword

We are not doing fast forword but you can do it at your
house. All you need is your childs password. It helps your kid get
even smarter!
Field Trip Jan 26

We love field trips.do you I sometimes
the bus is vary load dives me craze. Have a
headache you wont to yell are we there yet are
we there yet. The planetarium kids are so
exited learn new stuff.
Saving Money For Our School

Did you know that our budget for our
school is low?
To save money for our school I want to
use the sunlight for lighting our classrooms
instead of light bulbs. I am going to do this for
the whole school. I am interviewing the
principal about the budget and saving money.
Do you think this is a good idea? The principal
said she thinks this is a great idea. Here are
some other questions I asked her:
How will this help our school? We will
teach kids to conserve or save
electricity.
Will this help our school and how? We
might find electricity low. Were doing
 energy conservations and it might save
us money.
How do you know this will help or not?
She said we would look at the bills to
see if our energy costs go down. We are
going to compare old bills to new bills.
One concern she has is that we need some
lights in some rooms because they dont have
windows. She told me about a plan to shut
down computers, promethean boards, and
lights on weekends and holidays.

Basketball at Recess

Basketball on the basketball court is
very fun because you can go to the basketball
court and just join in with the other teams, but
we usually fight about which teams are fair and
which are not! You can make three-pointers
and it counts as three points, and if we get
fouled we dont get free throws, but we get the
ball back. It is hard to know who wins because
some kids usually just make up shots that they
didnt even make. That gets really frustrating
for me and my team.
Sometimes it is a blowout and it is easy
to know who wins. Like me and Biraj one time
went to win and the score was 15-7, and me
and Biraj won. In that situation it is easy to
know who won and clearly, me and Biraj won!
Sometimes at lunch we try and go to
do half-court shots and we usually make them.
Biraj and I bring it down to our waist and then
we bring it up to our chest while running and
that is how you make the half-court shot!!!
POETRY CAFE

Did you go to the 3rd grade poetry caf?
I was in it! A lot of people who were in it
enjoyed it! I enjoyed it! It was on February 3,
2017.
One student said he enjoyed doing the
caf, but he does not like going on stage with
an audience. Another student said he liked
performing onstage with an audience. I liked
performing on stage with an audience. A lot of
people liked the poetry caf!
The whole 3rd grade sang 2 songs. We
sang Id Like to Teach the World to Sing and
This Land is Your Land. Our class recited The
Road Not Taken by Robert Frost.
The Recognition Program

I am telling you about the
recognition program. The program is
where you see someone do a 7 habit
then you recognize that person. this is
how you recognize you get a piece of
paper and write it.
Ms. Bardon wants to be a Teacher
by: Unique
Ms. Bardon goes to school at UNM
(University of New Mexico). She has friends but
a few dont go to that school. Ms. Bardon likes
the school UNM. Ms. Bardon does like Mrs.
Anderson because she helps her to be a better
teacher. Student teaching is a lot of work but
she loves teaching so she enjoys the work. Ms.
Bardon is scared about teaching alone this year
but she feels very supported by Ms. Anderson
and her students so she knows it will work out.
Ms. Bardon went to John Baker Elementary
when she was little. I am happy that Ms.
Bardon is the student teacher because I have
two teachers (Mrs. Anderson and Ms. Bardon)
and that way it is easier.
Changing Seats!

Mrs. Anderson changes our seats once a
month. Ms. Bardon also helps change students
seats. Mrs. Anderson puts students together based
on how they synergize. Most students like who they
are sitting with. Students still talk even when Mrs.
Anderson sorted them on how they work together.
Ms. Bardon sort of likes where the students are
sitting for this month. Mrs. Anderson likes change,
So she likes it to be the end of the month to
change our seats.

At school we have PE. We have two
coaches are first coach is called Coach Woody
are second is called Coach Funk. We have units.
The unit we are in now is volley ball!!! We go to
PE every Monday. Coach Woody sets up field
day to thats where we celebrate it is the last
day of school. That is why Coach Woody and
Coach Funk do so much for are school!!!
Our Playground

Some of our playground is the
basketball court, foursquare, two square and
the monkey bars. The new equipment, a lot
of people like. Some students like the surfing
equipment, and students like the rings too.
Our recess is fifteen minutes long. We use the
playground almost every day. I think the
playground is useful because sometimes we
all need a break.
Computer Lab

doing in computer lab.
In computer lab we did PowerPoint
presentations. We started them in
computer lab and presented them in class.
We did them on PowerPoint. Some people
did not get to present because they did not
save correctly.
The students PowerPoint
presentations where really good. We also
learned that it is really important to save
correctly.
MATH MATH MATH

Math is used every day sometimes we
dont even know it. I think 96% of the world
uses math every day. The most popular math is
addition and subtraction. We are learning
division and addition. Every person has to use
math at least once in their life. People use
math for almost every day like in school we are
learning the standard algorithm. We are doing
multiplication banana splits once a week so we
have enough time to study and the class voted
on it.
Extra Pullouts

Did you know that we have extra
pullouts here in Mrs. Andersons class? We
have extra pullouts on Tuesdays and Fridays.
On Tuesdays, we have P.E with Coach Funk.
Coach Funk teaches us to get our hearts
pumping. On Fridays, Mrs. Hoffman teaches
art. In art Mrs. Hoffman teaches us to draw
Japanese koi fish and after we are done she lets
us take our work home and show our parents
what we drew in art class. I like extra pullouts
because I get better in art and in P.E.
PARCC Test

Did you know that we have a PARCC
test? This year we have eight tests. There are
four language arts and four math tests. They
are April 3 to April 7. One way to help kids do
better on the test to have them practice their
math, a good night sleep, and a good breakfast.
Art

Have you heard of whats happening in art?
Each class is having their own art that
each person in their class made. For example,
when my class made polar bears, we all made
polar bears they just didnt look all the same.
Like some people didnt putt there polar bear
in the same pose. I like the idea of the art
museum and really like how Mrs. Hoffman is
letting us putt up our art in the cafeteria, and
the best part is that our parents get to come!
Isnt that exiting? In the first five months of
the year we just had one day of the week that
we had art. But after winter break we started
to have more than one art session every
week on Friday. On Friday we also use clay
more often than our regular Monday class.
My favorite piece of art so far is the time
where I made several different hearts and
painted them with different colors. This was
a two day project and after I painted it, the
next week I covered it in a crayon like
texture. The event is happening in the spring.
It happens in the cafeteria at the very end of
the year.
The 7 Habits

The 7 Habits are really good. They
are habits that are really good. For example Be
Proactive is taking control of something. Habit
2 that is good is Begin with the End in Mind.
You can make a plan and do it. Habit 6 that is
good is Synergize. You can work with each
other. Habit 7 is Sharpen the Saw. You can get
better at your health. Habit 2 is Put First Things
First. You do something important then play.
Seek First to Understand Then to be
Understood means you can listen and then
speak and then talk. Habit 4 is Think Win-Win.
You want something but another person wants
it. You let him have it first then you play with it.
So are you going to use the 7 habits now?

Mrs. Anderson

Did you know Mrs. Anderson went to
two elementary schools?
She went to St. Patricks and Holy
Trinity schools.
Mrs. Anderson loves our class .She likes
to see people do the 7 habits and she
likes when we make her laugh.
She has a Student Teacher, Ms.
Bardon. Ms. Bardon helps her grade
things, get materials ready, and she
takes over sometimes. Sometimes Ms.
Bardon makes Mrs. Anderson laugh.
Mrs. Anderson has been teaching for 9
years, and this is her 3rd year teaching
3rd grade. Mrs. Anderson is the best!
