indeed my great pleasure to
invite you to the 37th Annual
Research and Education
Forum of the Medical
Sciences Campus of the
University of Puerto
Rico: Promoting Health
through Individual and
Social Means. This year we look forward to having a
diverse representation from universities,
government agencies, community-based and
private entities that will come together to share
knowledge and best practices on higher education,
policy and politics, and workforce development,
from traditions to innovations in health research.
This year, the Annual Forum will offer a thought-
provoking and stimulating scientific program and
plenary sessions. The Organizing Committee has
updated the forum categories, which provides
greater opportunities for researchers and educators
to share their creative work and results. This,
together with world-respected keynote speakers,
research competitions, symposiums, oral and
poster presentation sessions will enrich your
knowledge on the latest developments in research
and education.
Together with my colleagues in the Organizing
Committee, I look forward to welcoming you at the
Forum.

and Education Forum of the Medical Sciences
Campus of the University of Puerto Rico: Promoting
Health through Individual and Social Means. This
important event in health sciences and higher
education brings together a diverse representation
of leaders from the public, private sector,
community entities, teachers and students working
together to disseminate best practices in education,
new developments in science, Medicine, and public
health in search of greater well-being for our
society.
This year we leave a legacy for history by
institutionalizing the Justice for Health Award to
recognize initiatives that address through research
the reality of the underserved populations,
discriminated health of the poor and the origin of
these inequalities in the unbalanced distribution of
power, income and resources.
