Difference between growth and development


o In the field of biology, both growth and development signify the
changes in a particular organism in different aspects.
o Growth simply means an increase in size and mass of a particular
organism over a period of time.
o Development is defined as a process where in a particular organism
transforms itself from a lone cell into a more complicated multicellular
organism.
o Growth is a process of becoming larger or longer or more numerous or
more important, mostly a physical change; development is a process in
which something transform (mostly positive) into a different stage or
improves, it may be physical, social or psychological.
o Growth is taken to mean an increase in the size of an object or a living
being. Development is taken to mean an improvement in the level of
functioning.
o Growth describes the process of growing. It indicates an increase in
value.
o Development may mean a kind of improvement in the condition of
health. Development may mean a process of gradual transformation.

2. Difference between male and female reproductive system


o Male system is composed of penis and scrotum with testes while female
system contains ovaries and uterus.
o Male system has been developed to insert gametes while female system
has been evolved to receive the best gamete for fertilization.
o Male system produces testosterone, whereas female system produces
progesterone and oestrogen.
o Male system is mostly located outside the body, but the females have it
inside their body except for the vulva.
o Sperm production takes place in a cold environment, whereas ovum
production takes place in a warm environment.
