Pharmaceutical Research Assistant

Currently discovering a novel route to indole derivatives that are used in a variety of biological
and pharmaceutical compounds. This route features three operationally-simple steps: 1) an
oxidation to convert N-substituted 2-alkenylanilines into epoxide intermediates, 2)
transannulation, and 3) acid-catalyzed elimination of water.
Presentation: Oral Presentation, American Chemical Society National Meeting April 3, 2017.
Received $2200 travel research grant, Radford University Office of Undergraduate Research
Publication submitted and is currently under review, An operationally simple approach to
indole derivatives from 2-alkenylanilines utilizing an oxidation-transannulation-elimination
sequence

Observed the physician, while documenting comments, during full entrance exams, routine
medical exams, and sick visits at the rehabilitation centers.
Insured prescription requests, physical therapy/rehabilitation consults, and diagnoses were
documented and ordered on the physicians behalf.
