tool can be used variety of fictional texts.
in PK-12 c) Make and confirm predictions
f) Identify characters, setting, and important events
In first grade, the students can make a bubble map with the title
of the book being the center bubbles, and they can add bubbles
for different characters to describe the character, or setting or
important events.
2) VUS.2 he student will describe how early European exploration and
colonization resulted in cultural interactions among Europeans, Africans,
and American Indians.
In eleventh grade, the students can brainstorm together the
interactions they predicted that the Europeans, Africans, and
American Indians had by either creating a bubble map or and
outline and adding in ideas of how they all got along, and
expanding on those ideas in the summary.

TLED 430 Module 3
Collaborative Assignment
Ninth grade students can use the outline format of this tool to
help them brainstorm ideas of how to generate, gather, and
organize ideas for their writing. Also when they are done with
organizing, they can use the Page setting of this tool to write
their essays, and they can invite their peers to the essay so they
can all peer review together.
Positives and Positives:
challenges of 1) The people involved in the particular map will receive and email when
using the tool content is edited or added to the map that they are working on.
2) Not everyone HAS to work on the map at the same time, so it is
collaborative while still allowing students to work around their own
schedules.
3) There are many different forums that are included in debategraph
such as different graphs, trees, pages, outlines, and calendars. So the
students can use one tool to work on many different activities. And, if a
student is able to understand the concept better in one form than
another, then they can use that form while another student working on
the same map is viewing it written in a different form.
4) Not only does the program allow students to add and edit information
within the graph, they are also able to make comments below the graph,
so they could have a conversation with their peers prior to making
changes to the map.
Negatives:
1) The website and maps can be a little confusing to navigate, so it may
not be a very friendly website to younger users.
2) You have to either know the email address or user handle for the
people who are trying to be added to a map, so that information would
have to be sure to be provided prior to the students beginning a project.
3) Sometimes an explanation of a topic requires more than 500
characters to be used, so the space for writing may seem limited at
times.
