Summary:

Over the first week in my classroom I learned a lot about the different

routines and procedures set in place. While observing, I saw how important having

set routines and procedures help the daily management of the classroom. They

helped students know what to do, when to do it, and the noise level expected.

Since it was the beginning of the new semester, my teacher reviewed

routines and procedures throughout the week because many students were not

behaving how my teacher expected them to. We spent an hour on Tuesday going

through his beginning of the year PowerPoint where he explained guidelines and

expectations. This was beneficial to me for my first in the classroom because it

helped me to learn the way my teacher runs the classroom and what is expected

from the students. This will help me more easily as I begin to gradually takeover the
classroom. Next week I will be beginning to takeover rules and procedures

throughout the day and am happy to have this background before doing so.
