Hotels
A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging on a short-term basis. Facilities
provided may range from a modest-quality mattress in a small room to large suites with
bigger, higher-quality beds, a dresser, a fridge and other kitchen facilities, upholstered
chairs, a flatscreen television and en-suite bathrooms. Small, lower-priced hotels may
offer only the most basic guest services and facilities. Larger, higher-priced hotels may
provide additional guest facilities such as a swimming pool, business centre (with
computers, printers and other office equipment), childcare, conference and event
facilities, tennis or basketball courts, gymnasium, restaurants, day spa and social
function services. Hotel rooms are usually numbered (or named in some smaller hotels
and B&Bs) to allow guests to identify their room. Some boutique, high-end hotels have
custom decorated rooms. Some hotels offer meals as part of a room and board
arrangement. In the United Kingdom, a hotel is required by law to serve food and drinks
to all guests within certain stated hours. In Japan, capsule hotels provide a tiny room
suitable only for sleeping and shared bathroom facilities.
Restaurants
A restaurant (/rstrnt/ or /rstrnt/; French: [s.to.] ( listen)), or an eatery, is

a business which prepares and serves food and drinks to customers in exchange for money.

Meals are generally served and eaten on the premises, but many restaurants also offer take-

out and food delivery services, and some offer only take-out and delivery. Restaurants vary

greatly in appearance and offerings, including a wide variety of cuisines and service models

ranging from inexpensive fast food restaurants and cafeterias to mid-priced family restaurants,

to high-priced luxury establishments.

In Western countries, most mid- to high-range restaurants serve alcoholic beverages such

as beer, wine and light beer. Some restaurants serve all the major meals, such

as breakfast, lunch, and dinner (e.g., major fast food chains, diners, hotel restaurants, and

airport restaurants). Other restaurants may only serve a single meal (e.g., a pancake

house may only serve breakfast) or they may serve two meals (e.g., lunch and dinner) or even

a kids' meal.
Boutique
A boutique is "a small store that sells stylish clothing, jewelry, or other
usually luxury goods".[1] The word is French for "shop", which derives
ultimately from the Greek (apothk) or "storehouse".[2][3]

The term "boutique" entered into everyday English since the late 1960s. In
Europe, Avenue Montaigne and Bond Street were the focus of much media
attention for having the most fashionable stores of the era.[4]
Builders
The general contractor is a manager, and possibly a tradesman, employed by the
client on the advice of the architect, engineer or the architectural technologist or the
client him/herself if acting as the manager. A general contractor is responsible for
the overall coordination of a project.[3] A general contractor must first assess the
project-specific documents (referred to as bid, proposal or tender documents). In the
case of renovations, a site visit is required to get a better understanding of the
project. Depending on the project delivery method, the contractor will submit a
fixed price proposal or bid, cost plus price or an estimate. The general contractor
considers the cost of home office overhead, general conditions, materials and
equipment as well as the cost of labor to provide the owner with a price for the
project.

House Boats

A houseboat (different from boathouse, which is a shed for storing boats) is

a boat that has been designed or modified to be used primarily as a home. Some
houseboats are not motorized, because they are usually moored, kept stationary at a
fixed point and often tethered to land to provide utilities. However, many are
capable of operation under their own power. Float house is a Canadian and
American term for a house on a float (raft), a rough house may be called a shanty
boat.In Western countries, houseboats tend to be either owned privately or rented
out to holiday-goers, and on some canals in Europe, people dwell in houseboats all
year round. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, Amsterdam, London,
and Paris.
