Assumend that MOV is the acronym of Motor Operated Valve and ROV means Remote Operated

Valve.

While ROV ia s generic term used to indicate an actuated (pneumatic, electric, hydraulic or other)
valve which may be opened or closed from a distance by means of electric signal, MOV indicates
a valve specifically actuaded by a motor actuator, usually electric.

So a ROV can be MOV.

As far as I know, there is no standard for acronyms axcept ANSI/ISA 5.1. so this case is considered
an Industrial Standard.

ISA says:
2.8.2 Symbols different from those given in this standard and Users choice letters when used,
shall be fully described and detailed in the User/Owners standards, guidelines, or specifications
and in drawing cover sheet legends and notes.

In addition, an MOV (electric motor operated valve) cannot enable a failsafe position; it is always
fail last position. A spring loaded ROV can be configured to be failsafe if required.

XV is shutoff valve UV is under control valve

If it is only operated by operator selection, consider tagging HV. Otherwise if by shutdown logic,
consider UV or XV. The open and closed position switches for feedback to the operator are often
labeled ZSO for open and ZSC for closed. Actual ISA characters may require ZSH and ZSL with a
table indicating which is open or closed. The ZSO/ZSC is VERY common but not really proper
ISA. Do not show the actual overtorque limit switches required for the motor controls. If you
have a local/remote selector and open/closed pushbuttons at the valve tag them HS with the
functions identified next to the bubble.

Output/Active Function control station [K] shall be used for:

(a) Designating an operator accessible control station used with an automatic controller that
does not have an integral operator accessible auto-manual and/or control mode switch.
(b) Split architecture or fieldbus control devices where the controller functions are located
remotely from the operator station
