0:19 this is a draft so please this is the first edit it's basically got all the
0:26 information in and the wording is almost correct and we'll be working on the
0:33 second day today is to make a little bit more professional and time so for the
0:39 time being
0:40 welcome to a first introductory look at what is going to be a three-part series
0:47 this is the first part which times a bit of information and everybody should not
1:01 australia on a world stage has been around for quite a few thousand years
1:09 although in recent history has only formed due to colonization by the Dutch
1:15 and the British today we look at a Dutch history turned British history when King
1:22 George the third sealed in a proclamation more than half the
1:27 continent of terrorists rallis to the hundred 35th parallel
1:33 Australia was initially formed as a penal colony for convicts although also
1:39 cated to free men who eventually gathered to create Parliament as the men
1:45 of the colony began to identify they began to stand under a flag similar to
1:50 the military counterpart although emblazoned with stars
1:55 this became known as the colonial flag South Australia and Western Australia
2:03 grew out of their own finances both colonies not obtaining coats of arms
2:08 until after Federation then formed Victoria followed by Queensland and the
2:15 Northern Territory which change hands from New South Wales to set the strata
2:20 to become federal territory in 1907 many of the colonies had already begun to
2:27 identify the Federation under a similar flag to the colonial flag instead
2:33 showing a blue cross with an extra 50 * this became nine is the Federation flag
2:40 but he's debate with London to be self-governed under the hand of Queen
2:47 Victoria the commonwealth of australia constitution act was enshrined in
2:52 British law by royal assent and proclaimed to the people as the lure of
2:57 the British Parliament based on the common laws of England the Constitution
3:02 is tied to the annals of British history the Parliament acquiring at great
3:08 expense a copy of the bank ekkada on display in parliament house and on the
3:13 Senate website a constitution act $YEAR royal assent and lattice pattern have
3:21 been sealed into law by what is known as the Great Seal orsign menu along with
3:28 the constitution act the claim by warrant under royal sign manual you
3:33 should let his patent constituting the office of governor-general and the
3:38 creation of the Great Seal of the commonwealth of australia a similar
3:42 you was created for trans while on the African continent bearing the same
3:48 imperial crown and shield the great seal was first used in january of $YEAR 1904
3:54 although had been prepared by King Edward the seventh the earlier these
4:00 documents allowed the people to unite in a federal Commonwealth under the
4:04 blessing of Almighty God opening the parliament on the first of January 1901
4:10 and enjoying post inaugural celebrations
4:16 the new government however had an identity crisis and members wanted a new
4:21 flag adopting a chosen design it was eventually recognized in 1983 by Edward
4:28 the seventh and six pointed star depicted in the lower can turn off the
4:33 flag as well as within the coat-of-arms issued by Edward the seventh demonstrate
4:39 a tie to the faith being defended by Her Majesty's command this was followed by a
4:45 challenge for a coat of arms with much import through the media in may of
4:50 nineteen oh I by royal warrant Edward the seventh issued the commonwealth of
4:55 australia with its own coat of arms
4:59 leading up to the Hague conventions 1907 the World War had already seen
5:05 agreements at geneva very 1964 and Huygens adding 99 to hate conference 907
5:14 sore discussions of pace including more on land this sort changes in the
5:19 Commonwealth as article 55 was implemented
5:24 as the federal government acquired land in the ICT and my changes to the
5:30 Northern Territory it also created Commonwealth police officers to police
5:35 federal territory as a result of these changes the office of Admiralty sort of
5:41 like changes from a six-pointed star to a seven-pointed star in october of $YEAR
5:47 19
5:48 oh I after the issue
5:51 Australia's coat of arms and with much dislike for various reasons as well as a
5:57 query from government to the United Kingdom as to its usage it prompted the
6:03 issue a new coat of arms that is back and forth between melbourne in London
6:09 start in 1907 and run through $MONTH 1915 wearing it is defined that the kind
6:16 of arms usage was limited to display of ownership and was with outlaw baring
6:21 powers that would contradict letters patent 1900 and the creation of the
6:27 great seal this familiar arms was issued prob warrant in 1912 under george the
6:34 fifth interesting is the six-pointed star upon Royal Australian Navy attire
6:40 under queen elizabeth the second
6:44 after the motherland and gross the column world's Imperial forces into
6:48 world war one column mouth I the united kingdom was brought into peace talks at
6:53 verse a project by President stuffed and wilson and eventual plan to create a
7:00 league of nations and labor organizations it becomes evident through
7:05 political satire of the time that something sinister unavoidable is
7:10 occurring and related to finance international banking families were at
7:15 the time known to have global influence
7:20 Prime Minister ability is signed on behalf of the Commonwealth the King
7:25 previously signed into administration at The Hague in 1907 Billy Hughes had been
7:31 on a platform of war loans which turned into peace lines as the country cheered
7:36 him through what they thought was peace but in fact became a long-standing
7:41 financial obligation casing war often means reparations or loan repayment for
7:49 money is borrowed to go to war in the first place
7:52 it is the college of arms in London that oversees usage of arms such as the Great
7:58 Seal we start to see the issue coat of arms appear on legislation going against
8:04 previous correspondence and relative to changes in the government because it the
8:10 government because it disposal authority of arms
8:13 although questions arise as to with what authority from the very first government
8:19 because it we see changes in arms in my 1925 $STREET and again in june 1925
8:27 although see these changes in parliamentary record in the seventh
8:32 parliament of George the fifth the use of arms is then over time
8:38 registered commercially for international use this goes against the
8:43 quarter Cherie which was opened in 1954 after 200 years to have a case heard in
8:50 relation to the use of patient by corporate use of another's arms
8:56 after the trees at the high and subsequently address I the United
9:01 Kingdom attended several Imperial conferences to discuss the state of the
9:06 Empire
9:07 following this the Commonwealth moved into its new Parliament under the Royal
9:12 and given coat-of-arms the King's Chamber separates the other and lower
9:18 houses and the Prime Minister's Office it's dormant to this day as a first
9:24 order of business government sort of international debt by making agreements
9:29 with the states and modifying the Constitution without referendum it is
9:35 after this we start to see the issue coat of arms appear on legislation going
9:41 against previous correspondence and relative to changes in the government is
9:46 it
9:48 the dead sinking fund had taken fifty percent of commonwealth bank profits the
9:54 world was bankrupting as high 192 ordered the confiscation of gold in the
9:59 united states that the Commonwealth is still struggling to pay its debts in the
10:04 pound sterling after World War 2 the League of Nations became the United
10:09 Nations the Commonwealth had already installed United Nations acts as well as
10:15 the International Monetary Fund act 947 through Parliament and in 1948 started
10:22 to change nationality into citizenship the national debt at the end of world
10:28 war two was 2.2 trillion in pounds sterling based in silver medals as money
10:35 are listed on the stock exchange as securities making the national States
10:39 security-based debts by 1953 the nation's security based its had reached
10:46 three trillion pounds sterling in the time since the inauguration of the
10:52 Commonwealth united kingdom of great britain and ireland's or queen victoria
10:57 King it with the seventh King George the fifth head with the eye and King George
11:03 the six this monarchs after the death of King George the sikhs it was Elizabeth
11:09 that would take to westminister abbey to be coronated as described insider
11:15 Gideon's King James the coronation is super natural in origin through the
11:20 Royal law the scripture as the true and deeply significant lively Oracles of God
11:26 let's listen to Elizabeth take the coronation ice when you would eliminate
11:31 problem
11:33 well the govern the people of the united kingdom of great britain and northern
11:38 ireland canada australia new zealand the union of south africa market and salon
11:48 and of your be different and the other territory to any of them belonging
11:54 operating according to their effective law and cut
12:00 probably probably do becoming the monarch for coronation allows the keeper
12:14 of the seals to issue the monarch reseals to the realm as we know from the
12:19 constitution act and letters patent 1900 it is these seals that are the authority
12:25 to give a scent and warrant after becoming Queen Her Majesty travels to
12:32 the Commonwealth to open Parliament and like lime to the Commonwealth under all
12:36 styles and titles 953 let's watch as the Queen opens the parliament in melbourne
12:42 victoria the original column wealth Parliament before it's moved to federal
12:47 territory in 1927
13:10 remember the Senate and members of the House of Representatives the first
13:17 section of the constitution of the commonwealth of australia provide the
13:23 legislative power of the Commonwealth shall be vested in a federal parliament
13:29 which shall consist of the Queen a Senate and House of Representatives it
13:34 is therefore a joy for me today to address you not as a queen from far away
13:40 but is your queen and as a part of your Parliament it is i think fitting that I
13:47 should speaking to you today record mine
13:51 there's elements of unity which combined in the fabric of the British
13:55 Commonwealth the great institutions of parliamentary sovereignty a
14:01 democratically controlled executive the just and impartial administration of the
14:07 law is existing flash each of the great realms which call me queen already in my
14:15 journeys through the Commonwealth i have been made even more vividly conscious of
14:20 the true Brotherhood of my people even prouder of their services to
14:25 civilization and more richly confident of their future destiny the Royal powers
14:32 that gives the clean cows within the Commonwealth her being foreign to it and
14:37 in 1954 the flags act seals by Parliament the changes made after the
14:43 hike in nineteen our way the National did continue to remain out of control in
14:50 the twenties adenosine Miller KCMG governor of the commonwealth bank had
14:56 placed full-page notices in newspapers advising the nation how to get out of
15:00 debt
15:01 although in 1959 there is a bank was created for an upcoming currency change
15:07 in 1965 in use by other people in 1966 the currency lost its weight in gold and
15:14 silver bar 1973 the national debt still had not been paid and the sinking fund
15:21 was shifted to other fun
15:23 spin the RBI replace the commonwealth bank as a contributor to the debt
15:28 sinking fund 50 years from the dead sinking fund 923 and Whitlam was
15:34 visiting mainland China as well as Nixon in the United States
15:39 this was followed by God's asking biker with the famous words my ways I God site
15:49 wait
15:52 nothing will save the government
16:05 the proclamation which you have just that read by the Governor General's
16:12 officially secretary with countersign Malcolm Fraser
16:29 undoubtedly go down in australian history from Remembrance Day 1970 by as
16:38 good of arrogance or diplomatic relations start with the Whitlam
16:44 government and in 1982 to visit with the claim the australian dollar was floated
16:51 on the new york stock exchange distract installed and too many other things
16:56 occur to go into here
16:59 we however turn our attention to Quentin Bryce in here entertained by the part
17:06 Quentin Bryce was appointed to the office of governor-general under letters
17:10 patent constituting the office again after that is patent 1984 this is
17:17 important because the governor-general is still appointed by the claim upon the
17:22 advice of the minister's letters patent 2008 was given at the court at immoral
17:28 under Prime Minister Kevin Rudd signature the notable feature here
17:33 though is the faint mark of the ceiling use letters patent 984 supposedly
17:40 revoked letters patent 1900 presumably to stop the use of the Great Seal of the
17:46 commonwealth of australia but this latest patent 2008 best the Great Seal
17:52 of Australia has had its predecessor letters patent 1984 queries to the Privy
17:59 Council of the United Kingdom in relation two orders of appointment to
18:03 previous governor general's going back to nineteen eighty-two show no orders on
18:08 record there is some wizardry going on but what in 1973 under Governor General
18:16 Paul has luck we can see through government is it first use of the Great
18:21 Seal of australia in royal warrant issued by with them in October 973 we
18:28 can see a great seal is issued by quite our order for the use by quite our
18:36 government and is created at quite our court at Government House on the
18:42 sixteenth of every 954 this seals creation in 1954 and use in government
18:51 in 1973 preceeds letters patent 1984 australia right 1986 and goes against
18:59 letters patent 900 with government gazette showing the use of two seals
19:04 within one week of parliament
19:08 we can then see governor general peter cosgrove is sealed under the great seal
19:13 of Australia
19:15 let's listen to the governor-general sv takes
19:25 the commission from Her Majesty the Queen appointing General Peter John
19:34 cosgrove AC NC regard to be the Governor General of the Commonwealth of a
19:41 straighter Elizabeth the second by the grace of God queen of Australia and her
19:47 other realms and territories Head of the Commonwealth to Peter John kosgrove

20:27 ice relating to the office of governor-general or in future letters

20:39 general for the time being may have received or may in future was saved from
20:44 us and according to such laws as are from time to time in force and we do
20:51 declare that the powers conferred by this cell Commission include any further
20:56 powers that may in future be assigned to the governor-general in accordance with
21:02 section 2 of the Constitution of the commonwealth of australia the Commission
21:08 is signed at its head
21:10 Elizabeth are and was given at our courts and James on 12 March 2014 it is
21:20 countersigned by Her Majesty's command Tony Abbott Prime Minister I invite the
21:26 Chief Justice of Australia to inspect the Commission
21:32 yeah
21:47 the chief justice will now administer the oath of allegiance and then the oath
21:53 of office i paid a John kosgrove do swear that I will be faithful and bear

23:10 Australia and i will do right to all manner of people after the laws and
23:15 usages of the Commonwealth of Australia without fear or favour affection or
23:20 ill-will so help me God
23:38 congratulations instancing thank you thank you very much you want your
23:49 excellency having now taken the oath of allegiance and the oath of office may I
23:54 invite you to his signing instrument proclaiming that you have assumed the
23:58 office of Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia
24:26 yeah
24:29 whereas her majesty queen elizabeth the second has been graciously pleased by
24:38 commission under her royal sign manual in 1973 the Queen had secret meetings
24:46 with gough whitlam they seemed to center around three main things that of
24:51 citizenship and both the order of australia and royal stars and titles
24:58 where is clearly going through the documents related to stars and titles is
25:04 that even though with them made further name changes it is the 953 act thats its
25:10 title to like climb to the commonwealth of australia it is also clear that plans
25:17 for change had been in place since before is about $OPERAND seconds
25:20 coronation in February of 975 the order of australia was proclaimed and gazetted
25:28 with press releases drawn up and honors ready to give it wasn't until my of 976
25:35 that the commonwealth of australia was formally presented the order of
25:41 australia has replaced all british-based honors previously given out in the
25:45 Commonwealth
25:47 in secret meetings with the Queen golf wetland discuss not only changes to the
25:53 oath of allegiance but also specifically the parliamentary of we have already
25:59 seen and the Queen and Governor General's are bound by us
26:03 let's have a look at some of the recent Prime Minister damage the reason price
26:09 Governor General of the Commonwealth of Australia pursuant to section 64 and 65
26:15 of the Constitution hereby direct and appoint the honorable Julia Eileen he
26:22 died in $YEAR p a member of the federal executive council to hold the office of
26:28 Prime Minister and to administer the department with the Prime Minister and
26:34 cabinet I Julia I'll angular solemnly and sincerely affirmed and declared that
26:44 are we will truly soon the commonwealth of australia her land and her people in
26:50 the office i have a $OPERAND micron square that I welcome to reserve comment
27:00 block straighten that land people in the office of Prime Minister so help me God
27:07 I Anthony don't have it to swear that I will well and truly serve the people of
27:15 Australia the opposite Prime Minister that I will be faithful and bear true
27:20 allegiance to Her Majesty quickly with the second so helpful
27:26 2i Malcolm black
27:30 this is where that I will well and truly serve the people of strength the office
27:36 of Prime Minister that I will fight for literally majesty queen elizabeth the
27:42 second Queen of Australia so don't we start to see the line of authority comes
27:48 from one earth with their word as their bond from coronation through appointment
27:55 of the governor-general to each Prime Minister citizenship also by is the last
28:01 in the line of Allegiance the initial oath of allegiance to the Queen and
28:06 kingdom all other Earth's taken to take up office within the kingdom or
28:11 Commonwealth at the inauguration of the Commonwealth men and women were British
28:16 subjects it wasn't until the Parliament had decided on naturalization that
28:22 legislation defining a national was implemented in 1903 from 99 three
28:28 British subjects endeavor originals did not have to become Nationals their
28:33 status already recognized by the Commonwealth have originals had been
28:38 considered British subjects as early as I didn't 34 according to the Australian
28:43 Electoral Commission after two world wars and an increasing world debt the
28:48 IMF act 947 was followed by first steps towards citizenship slightly they strip
28:54 recognition as Nationals as a generation was born into citizenship
28:59 it wasn't until a generation later their golf wetlands along with the Queen
29:04 discuss changes to citizenship in the act of 1973 Kevin listen to this
29:10 discussion on the powers of revoking citizenship and at the end where the
29:15 term legal fictions years he force decided if the brief is normal people
29:19 keep the minister becomes aware of behavior that fits the criteria but it
29:25 like I guess I'm just contemplating so absolutely no discretion night there is
29:29 no description under the law but I can have invaded too circumstantial Minister
29:33 city look at that
29:34 on the oven convince me to ice up after this secret process is completed the
29:42 minister does not need to inform the Australian citizenship has been revoked
29:47 until the minister things it's appropriate
29:51 that's right it's not a requirement miss drivers here accurately paraphrasing the
29:56 relevant provision it's not a requirement the legislation for the
30:00 person souls be notified the legislation in its current form TSA's the minister
30:05 determines to whom the notification sent and then and then warming and win and
30:11 win it anyway
30:14 yep and just to complete the prices whether or not the minister ever gives
30:21 three it gives notice to the Australian his citizenship has been revoked
30:25 he never has to give reasons are not in the notice now so just to recap we've
30:32 got a secret process conducted by Australian public servants looking at
30:39 secret it's classified information
30:43 some of it possibly publicly available who are going to write a secret report
30:48 to the secretary of the department who writes another secret report to the
30:51 minister who signed a form that revokes the Australian citizenship and the
30:55 Australian nominated to be told and never needs to be given reasons that I
30:59 got that right are the only characterization are slightly wish to
31:07 recast you asked me if you got it right in terms of all the words that you've
31:11 used signs of form up I hadn't ratted out signs of form revoking the
31:16 citizenship i guess to be accurate to know I really said signs a form which
31:20 deprives in Australian or their citizenship at what gives notice that
31:24 that person doesn't have to citizenship but i'm trying to use a neutral word
31:30 that doesn't have a legal meaning and that's why I'm using the word for mr.
31:33 facility that ministers gonna say you're saying is you're also using the fries
31:36 deprives
31:38 they had it before and I don't have it time by while it's a potential loss it's
31:44 a conventional war vote leaves notification that the person is no
31:50 longer citizen the main picture gives notification that the person is no
31:56 longer citizen the main function is no longer citizen the main fiction no
32:00 longer citizen the main fiction no longer citizen the main picture by
32:05 changing the citizenship both in 1973 and asking to pledge allegiance in
32:11 ignorance of any change is surely fraud upon the people for this is an
32:17 allegiance to a nation died for by those that fought the great war in a bid to
32:22 save her future and give us freedom by taking an allegiance foreign to the Rome
32:28 shooting itself demonstrate that something is amiss for the Parliament to
32:33 start changes in 1948 directly after the IM effect of 1947 demonstrates the shift
32:41 of people from one Kingdom to another and this is done generation to
32:45 generation so that it isn't question
32:48 ok throughout this video reminds of your observation so just talk a little bit
32:53 about what we've gone through first observation that we make is in relation
32:59 to Queen Victoria and the Royal Assent guilty the constitution act $YEAR 1916
33:07 by the Queen herself son with her own hand at the very top left-hand corner
33:14 inconceivable Toria signature but what we're looking at here is the actual seal
33:21 attached to the document and on this face side you can see the coat of arms
33:27 for the united kingdom of great britain and ireland and close-up of that showing
33:32 the angel heart so we know that that is the correct kingdom now we look at the
33:38 reverse side of the Royal listen and the river side of the seal and what we want
33:45 to play most attention to here
33:47 is the actual seal which depicts the lady sitting on a horse above the
33:52 trodden and we can't actually be assured with the quality of the copy that we
33:59 have that this actually belongs to Queen Victoria after doing some research
34:04 online come across several seals of Queen Victoria which depict the lady on
34:13 a horse being lit by another lady but there is a definite cross-hatching
34:19 across the horses behind and you can see very clearly that it says victoria
34:25 around the seal so we can't be assured that the seal attached to the
34:31 constitution act belongs to Queen Victoria we are told that the seal is
34:38 the Great Seal of the United Kingdom which would be the united kingdom of
34:43 great britain and ireland at the time but it doesn't match the Great Seal of
34:49 Queen Victoria doing some research in heraldry website i have noticed that the
34:56 Queen had replaced his seal twice the daily telegraph in the United Kingdom
35:03 reports that this has happened four times so we can't be sure with the Queen
35:11 Victoria at this stage has had four different seals or a replacement of the
35:15 same seal four times doing the research though I can only find a copy of the
35:23 seal in use over many decades observation to notorious site manual on
35:31 royal warrant letters patent 1900 and we know that the latest Patten passed under
35:37 the great seal of the united kingdom and this constituted the office of the
35:42 governor general and the commander-in-chief reason the
35:45 Commonwealth
35:46 on founding docs I don't show the bottom of the document where the seal should be
35:53 but on the new south wales website we can see in comparison to the founding
36:02 docs document we had the same document which actually shows the seal at the
36:08 bottom and we can see by the yellow and red thread that it is the signed
36:14 document so we have a seal which is supposed to be the Great Seal of the
36:21 United Kingdom the seal the realm to which is being poured onto the latest
36:27 patent 1900 but as with the previous document constitution act $YEAR 1960
36:35 lossy doesn't seem to match up to Queen Victoria seal as with the constitution
36:42 act the seal of the horse and lady doesn't match the seal of Queen Victoria
36:48 and the seal with the queen or monarch sitting in an archway doesn't match that
36:56 of Queen Victoria observation three the Great Seal of the column often destroy
37:03 this is first created under it with the seventh on the royal warrant in 1902 and
37:10 then was replaced by George the fifth in 1912 and George the fifth used it with
37:19 the seventh seal until the neal had arrived in Australia the Parliament used
37:26 under the King's name to Governor General's use personal arms before a
37:32 great seal was issued and great seals have occurred under Edward the seventh
37:37 George the fifth jorge the six Elizabeth the second and the queen of Australia
37:43 you can see by use of memorabilia in nineteen away when the US after the
37:52 administration of the Commonwealth visited Australia and with the seventh
37:57 and also see from are quite found in the National Archives the use of similar
38:07 seal with slight modifications used by George the fish the slight modifications
38:13 from the College of Arms correcting mistakes in the first issue of the arms
38:19 observation five use of the royal warrant for the Great Seal of the
38:26 Commonwealth 954 in this document it states government of the commonwealth of
38:34 australia deface the Great Seal of the commonwealth of australia in the
38:40 Executive Council of the commonwealth of australia but it's a little bit
38:45 ambiguous and the only states are great seal of the Commonwealth so we're not
38:50 sure this stage which Commonwealth we're talking about because the Queen had
38:54 created the british commonwealth of nations in 1954 it also states a CEO of
39:02 the Commonwealth it's the first time a lower seal had been introduced our war
39:07 always a great seal but never a lower seal so we have a Christian is it under
39:18 the commonwealth of australia or is it under the British colony off of Nations
39:22 later we'll find out that in the government because it it's actually the
39:30 Great Seal of the commonwealth of australia this is noted in the gazette
39:34 every time it's used observation seats royal warrant for the Great Seal of
39:42 Australia 1973 this is kind of strange sort of time a lot of stuff is going on
39:50 nationally but this is the first time that the word Commonwealth has been
39:56 dropped from the Great Seal and the great seal as we have
40:01 discovered through the carnation down to the governor-general is the seal of all
40:08 the lower inside the Commonwealth it is the governor-general that seals the acts
40:14 passed by the Parliament giving them a cent under a great seal this is an
40:21 unlockable seal so this is the first time we have the dropping of the
40:28 Commonwealth so a great seal is now created for our government of Australia
40:34 and it is to device the great seal that accompany draw a warrant on the
40:41 sixteenth every 954 we know this to be the Great Seal of the Commonwealth but
40:48 through the use of government preserve the Great Seal of the commonwealth of
40:53 australia and this is to be dividing the Executive Council of Australia
40:58 everything's to then be passed under the great seal of australia from this time
41:05 forward and not the Great Seal of the commonwealth of australia so the
41:10 question here is is straighter destroying Commonwealth property because
41:15 if it is there are several crimes under the crime tech 914 but 24 double I
41:20 treachery seems to be the most applicable for this level of government
41:26 observation seven roaring letters patent 2000 aight this is a unique section of
41:35 the video because everything sort of centers around this this pattern in 1900
41:44 Queen Victoria through the Parliament issue that is patent constituting the
41:48 office of governor-general and the commander-in-chief in 1984 queen
41:55 elizabeth the second issued letters patent reconstituting the office of
42:00 governor-general removing the title of commander in chief from the government
42:05 governor-general move forward to the latest pattern 2009 this reconstitutes
42:12 the office of governor-general again and it's what is used to see Quentin Bryce
42:18 into the office of governor-general we look at the bottom of the letters patent
42:26 and we can see a seal which doesn't match the great seals that we know from
42:31 the past but revival to match that to seal that we've discovered and it relies
42:38 perfectly I shuts you so we're not what the Great Seal Australia actually looks
42:46 like and we also know that the Governor General Peter Cosgrove was sworn in
42:52 according to latest patent 2000i and in swearing-in ceremony also can be seen to
42:59 swearing to the queen of Australia and Australia observation i use of the Great
43:08 Seal great seals are really important instrument in law as you can see through
43:16 the video it is to call framework for the authority of law within the
43:22 Commonwealth through the United Kingdom we're seeing a few uses of the great
43:27 seal but when it comes to the changes in the Commonwealth the great seal was
43:34 issued on the sixteenth 5954 and defaced on the Ninth Doctor 1973 this is where
43:45 we swap over for my Great Seal of commonwealth of australia to the Great
43:49 Seal of australia and the last years of the Great Seal of the commonwealth of
43:54 australia was to see judge into the federal court of bankruptcy the
44:00 following day the Great Seal of Australia is used several times and then
44:05 within the next week it's used quite a bit but the interesting thing is that on
44:11 the night
44:11 october the Great Seal of australia was used 10 days before royal warrant was
44:17 issued to the government general authorizing the use of the seal so the
44:22 ceiling law didn't actually exist without the royal warrant to the
44:27 government general allowing the governor-general to seal the document so
44:32 there's the governor-general using the Great Seal of Australia 10 days before
44:36 he's been given the authority to do so
44:41 observation nine use of the flag the Federation flag rose from the new south
44:47 wales flag over time in the colony as the colony change from the colonial flag
44:53 into the Federation flag which was sort of based on the new south wales flag
44:57 with five-pointed stars instead . stars and then became a federated Commonwealth
45:05 and adopted the six-pointed flag now that the interesting thing here is that
45:12 the six-point star flag and coat of arms sort of acknowledged at the same time
45:20 the coat of arms as a seven-pointed star honor but the interesting thing here is
45:27 is that under administration Admiralty orders see a six-pointed star change to
45:35 a seven-pointed star and it isn't until 953 under the flags at the flag is
45:43 actually authorized as the national flag of the commonwealth of australia so an
45:49 administrator has been using a seven-pointed star on that flag since
45:55 nineteen i but the crown hasn't authorized it as legislation until after
46:03 the Queen took on roll stars entitles 953 absolution 10 use of the coat of
46:11 arms
46:13 coat of arms a lot of people always thought was the authority for law that
46:17 it is not actually the authority of Lord is just a coat of arms to signify the
46:22 ownership of something like a corporation would have a logo and
46:27 Australia has issued a coat of arms from the college of arms in nineteen i wait a
46:34 second coat of arms is issued in $MONTH 9-12 after a lot of 2 and throwing
46:40 between england and australia in relation to the design as well as the
46:45 use of the arms through some letters from the Prime Minister's Office
46:49 reunited become she's us to way they should put the arms and then the lower
46:56 bearing seal is of course the great seal everything in law must be sealed so it
47:01 can't be unlocked and that seal is a good 3-inch diameter a quarter of an
47:10 inch thick seal that creates hard clay discs that can't be broken
47:18 the first use of the coat of arms that I've found is in the parliamentary
47:25 debates and 17th year nineteen seventeen under george the fifth and this
47:34 coincides with the defense on and 17 way a state of war is not actually lifted it
47:43 is just modified the wording of a state of war is changed and we are left in a
47:49 state of war and this coat of arms goes on to be used in the government is it
47:56 later
47:57 some years later when we see house change
48:01 in my 1925 from the united kingdom of great britain and ireland to the united
48:08 kingdom of great britain and northern ireland one would soon and then to the
48:14 codons which has no authority to see law so it's not a royal coat of arms as a
48:23 note in government is it we started with the Royal coat of arms to a house change
48:28 before we change to initiate coat of arms rather royal law erinkoval arms you
48:37 can see this through the may/june changes so one thing people have to
48:44 understand is that this is a coat of arms
48:47 it's like a logo to accompany it is not a law bearing seal a seal in the old
48:55 days with the kings and queens used to be a signet ring and this would be used
49:02 to impress into wax and see your documents with a coat of arms
49:08 we all know this from the movies in the case of royalty this becomes a little
49:14 bit more serious in that you can see our constitution act and the latest patent
49:20 that they have attached string seals on them they're unbreakable ties to the
49:27 document that tie the document to a monarch and that monarch is giving a
49:33 sent to the act of law that appears in the document
49:39 ok so we come to the end of what I'm gonna turn into a three-part series each
49:50 episodes going to be an hour and this is the first episode which just introduces
49:56 you to the authority of law in the next episode we're going to go into that
50:00 authority into a little bit more depth and discover where the Queen actually
50:06 gets that authority from herself so in this episode we've gone from
50:13 the kingdom and a carnation and the Queen accepting the authority of law and
50:20 that's by oath and that's pasta into the governor-general through a great seal
50:26 and that keeps the governor-general a great seal and he does that by oath and
50:33 that's then passed to the Prime Minister and the Parliament and the scent is
50:39 given by the governor-general in a process called sign manual so we've
50:47 pretty much covered how Australia got its authority but we have some questions
50:57 in relation to the Great Seal changing from the Great Seal of the commonwealth
51:03 of australia to the Great Seal of Australia and some changes around the
51:08 Queen and roll stars and titles especially with the secret meetings
51:14 between the Queen and cough with them in the nineteen seventy-three so in
51:21 observations reversed quite a few questions
51:25 the main one here is Australia different entity to the commonwealth of australia
51:31 and if so why are we changing names when we have letters patent and a
51:39 constitution defining exactly who we are and in the nineteen seventies many
51:45 questions being raised by the law society and other legal fraternities in
51:51 relation to what is actually going on with these name changes and we did a
51:57 little bit deeper we begin to find out
52:00 so in the next episode we're going to look at the crown and how it actually
52:07 gets its authority and then following that we're going to go into what i do in
52:13 the courtroom in
52:15 relation to its authority over you the man
52:20 ok so this is just a draft for now this is going to be redone
52:26 thank you for watching please
52:29 feedback is important and private messages popular sort of address the
52:37 video but I'm not here to help you also please be mindful Jesus
