RESUMO
ABSTRACT
The mechanical properties of thin films are very different when compared to materials
in bulk due to the great influence in part of the interfaces effects of the material
microstructure.
In order to understand the mechanical properties of thin films, the prior knowledge of
the tensions of these structures is required, as well as an understanding of the
mechanisms by which they undergo deformation. To this end, specialized
experimental techniques were developed to determine the mechanical properties and
the stress and strain states for free films and films bound to substrates.
