Brief Description of Learning Experience: As you address the standards, what will students and
teachers do? How will the project be introduced? How long will it take to complete? What audience will
use/care about the multimedia projects students are creating? How broad is this audience? How will
student work be assessed and by whom? Who will provide feedback to students about their work?
(Overview should be a minimum of 2 paragraphs)

Students will be creating their own audio file that covers the topic of the Berlin Wall as well as democracy and communism. The
project is introduced by playing the teachers audio file explaining the directions in class. Student will spend time in class and at
home for three days working on this project. Parents and teachers will care about the projects the students are creating. It will
encourage creativity and innovation. Each students parent and teacher will be able to comment on their project that will be posted
on the blog. The teacher will assess the students work with a rubric indicating the correct format and requirements of the project.
The teacher will provide feedback to the students directly to their project on the blog.

Student Engagement/Higher-Order Thinking: What LoTi level would this lesson be and Why? This
lesson would be LoTi level 5 : Expansion because the student is directing the lesson. The student will also cooperate working on
this project outside of the classroom. This project connects them to the real world with the blog post we are using.

Importance of technology: Why is using a multimedia authoring tools critical to the project? Could
the project be completed without this technology? What would be lost without using it? What other
types of technology, if any, are going to be used in the learning experience? The multimedia authoring tools
is critical to the project because students are constructing a project using their voice as well as technology. The project can be
completed without this technology by just allowing students to research the topics and simply discuss or complete a worksheet.
The higher order objective such as creating would be lost without using this technology.
Inspiration (optional): If you used existing multimedia projects as a model for your project (whether
in part or whole), include the URL(s) so we can visit. Explain what concepts you borrowed from
others.

Internet Safety and Student Privacy: Briefly discuss some possible issues surrounding internet
safety and student privacy that could arise while implementing this learning experience and explain
how youd minimize risks to students/yourself, alleviate any fears by parents/administrators, and
follow school districts Internet Safety/Use Policy.

There are issues that could arise for student privacy, such as other parents or students viewing their
work. In order to counteract this issue we would provide a login for each student to allow them to only
view their work. The teacher is able to view each students work in order to grade and provide
feedback. Parents are also only allowed to view their students work with their parental login
information.
